YouTube video by MalofeevVEVO
I saw Alexander Malofeev play with the Oregon Symphony last fall & I was absolutely blown away. He just released his first album & everything Iโve heard on it so far is gorgeous. ๐น
Playing piano like this at any age is incredible but heโs only 24!!!

So, Iโve seen Vivaldiโs 4 Seasons performed over the course of 60+ years at probably a dozen or more symphonies & this was a unique & wonderful performance tonite by the Oregon Symphony featuring Avi Avital on mandolin (doing the trad violin leads).
An amazing evening. A challenging program. Thx!

Singing All the Parts: The Vocal Dynamism of Portlandโs Jimmie Herrod
Jenni Moore
Portland's Jimmie Herrod lights up the Schnitz January 24 and 25 with the backing of the Oregon Symphony. Herrod, of Pink Martini and America's Got Talent fame, has vocals that soar like Aretha and sizzle like Billie, and we've got it on good authority that there's gonna be a Janet Jackson cover.
