Yeah, you have to give it a bit of time to find its stride, but once you start unlocking more abilities, it shines.

You'd get your money's worth out of Gestalt and F.I.S.T. alone.
Gestalt is quite solid. Not amazing, but I didn't at all regret my time with it. F.I.S.T. is a frustrating one. Fantastic gameplay/combat/level design, absolutely fucking terrible world/characters/story. Gameplay trumps all, but its sheer story inanity left me mixed on the whole.
Lots of quality here for shockingly little money.
Sucks that so much of it is left off of the OST. Amazing game. Amazing music. TERRIBLE localization.
Gotcha. Thanks for the insight!
Did you play the original release? Curious as to how it compares to Proud Nordics. (I have a copy, but it's down the priority list, as I played through the original to completion)

The remaster does include a new 1P campaign, in case you weren't aware. Apparently quite a good one, or so I've been told.
Part of the issue, I think, is that a lot of people write reviews like they're meant to be persuasive essays. Like good or bad, the reviewer has an axe to grind and the goal is to convince the reader that this subjective opinion is objective fact.
I'm sure there are, but I have reached a point in recent years (thanks to the Minority Report-type world of ads we now live in) where I have a viscerally negative reaction to any sales pitch.
Low-key one of the best features of YouTube Premium is the "skip commonly-skipped section inside a video" function. Quick and easy avoidance of ad reads.

I made a complete PC Engine OST soundtrack for Ys I & II Chronicles (and Oath in Felghana) back in the day, but never uploaded it anywhere. I should probably fix that.
Apropos of nothing, here is a link to my actual, pre-social media website. Featuring a complete retranslation of the complete game text of The Last Blade.
I found Frequency had a much steeper learning curve than Amplitude, but Frequency's music has stayed with me in a way that most of Amplitude's has not.
Hell yeah. Honestly, it doesn't matter if an FG has the best gameplay in existence. If I can't find I character I connect with, I will literally never touch the game. That's why I've always vibed with SNK over Capcom (Vampire notwithstanding, and Jedah in particular).
It's almost funny. Americans, as a people, are so thoroughly propagandized and the government has effectively abdicated its role to corporations in so many spheres that we literally cannot tell the difference between fact and falsehood.
I know (hope) this is a joke, but there's a nice Japanese place called Izakaya-Den here in Denver, and they sell a lychee martini, with an actual lychee fruit in it. Genuinely the best mixed drink I've ever had. EVER.
Almost midway into March, I regret to inform you that I have failed to be attitude for gains. If this causes you to rescind your Patreon pledge, I understand. I cannot guarantee I'll do any better going forward.

...I kinda want to try streaming.
I can easily understand and tolerate all manner of foreign accents in English, but I struggle with the British replacement of the "th" phoneme with "f." Something about it just infuriates me, and it will immediately make me click off to watch something else.
It mostly just shows me that the Haas effect screws with my perception of pitch.
Almost in spite of myself (it took me three days to watch this clip), I actually sorta look vaguely cool here.
I had no involvement after FC, and I've heard little positive about Cold Steel's writing. But then, a lot of Falcom's writing has had a notable dip in quality right around when they went full 3D. Leaning more on the junior staff like in Memories of Celceta, I suspect.
Ahaha, definitely Olivier. Though I did enjoy contributing to the chest messages. Those were mostly Jessica's idea, but I did contribute. Mostly with Hitchhiker's Guide references.
Just the main FC story stuff. System text was done by someone else, and I subcontracted a lot of NPC dialogue to a friend. Said friend is 100% of where Olivier found his English voice, though. At least during XSEED's tenure over the series. I had him redo ALL of Olivier's lines I'd done previously.
