Coder by day, coder by night, coder in my sleep. If I tell you "binary thinking", don't be offended, it is my way to broaden discussions and always keep in mind that a subject can't normally be brought down to the one "either/or" statement.
I know it sounds crazy, but it’s probably the same mechanism that makes us wake up with solutions in the morning or, when you try to remember a name, it pops in your head once you’ve given up trying... Maybe we need a word for that, not mindful, not mindless : mind-half-full or some like that 😉
I do it the other way round, when the bug cannot be found and also cannot really be anywhere but in plain sight, I let the mind think about whatever else, looking at the code mindlessly, and the obvious finally becomes visible.

SQLite does that to people… It’s not just that it is on the same machine, it lives in the same process as your code. I think about it not as a « database server, but local », I think of it as an « ISAM library on turbo-steroids that also knows sql »

I still remember the point in the interview when I understood there wasn’t a server running your game ; that you were doing it all _by hand_. I haven’t encountered that level of dedication very often… It makes this moment a very fond memory of mine.

En fait, la réponse est plutôt « les deux mon capitaine… » : sans ombre, on ne distingue rien à ce qui est dans la lumière… prends une feuille blanche, un crayon gris, contente toi de dessiner les ombres, et cela suffit à faire apparaître la scène, c’est magique 😀
Dans ma méthode pour dénicher des super petites fromageries, la présence de ces choses est un indicateur infaillible qu’il faut battre en retraite… 😂 (mais bon, chacun trouve midi à sa porte, les goûts et les couleurs c’est mystérieux, fais toi plèz !)
Ce que tu n’as pas remarqué c’est que le charlatan vend le même syndrome aux mecs. Quand tu trais les pigeons, tu ne te soucies pas de leur genre.
