A normal E36 compact interior in shockingly clean shape but the airbag steering wheel out of a boat.

The sedan, FYI was painted with a brush and then burnt and has a rather odd cream dash, M-striped seats and the Compact looks as mint as I've seen, the only foible being meh seats and the 4-spoke fititng for a pirate ship. Socrates is wise.

Socrate's 316 has a M50B20 under the hood in a relatively clean way! Surprisingly the shock towers are black so this isn't maybe originally a white car?

By the way, my recent 318is experience reminded me that when my dad promised a 3k E36 of my own when I was smaller and wanting his, I would've bought a white coupé and that was that. This isn't so upsetting, it just was a lot of money to do pads/discs and a few suspension issues it already had and it was transformative but this is def something to look into. Pity.

My old discs were already warped badly when we swapped over to a set from a 330i the BMW shop we did it in had lying around (remember, 316i had drums in the back!) but on October it seems the pad choice may have been poor on the other shop's hands.

E36 has never had "great" brakes but yeah, huh.

Can a single good run ruin a set of brake pads? I think mine are noticeably worse and I only had a brake job October last year. I'm quite impressed if they are now.

Did get Zimmermann discs but the pads were supposed to be "good" but like... how good can they be, really. I'm surprised.

I can definitely say, I was quite surprised, say, 4th how easily 100MPH can be achieved in a 986S... been missing that feeling!

FWIW, I liked 6th in my TSI because at low RPM you pushed it and because of the supercharger, you felt the hand of god pushing you out of nowhere.

I remember overtaking slow cars in 6th!
