I mean, there is still hope for the future, but it will take at least a decade to repair the damage that the orange dude caused. It's actually pretty ironic that the US (which claims to have the best democracy) actually has the most outdated one and that is the cause for all the political problems.
The problem is that Trump now causes irreparable damage. CA, EU and AUS are now forced (and actually already do) to make new plans for an alliance without the US. The US has proven to be an unreliable partner and your democracy has a lot of flaws that can never be fixed, unless there is a civil war.
