Non-Political Post: thrilled to announce that I have mastered the art and timing of steaming both hard and soft boiled eggs! Yay, me!

It’s truly unimaginable. We’re expecting up to 90 degrees later this week here in Nor Cal. The only up-side is that some of the local weeds have already gone into summer-dormant mode…

As a senior citizen, not only are packages more difficult to open, the likelihood I will receive and ER-worthy injury is much higher. Why are the edges sharp enough to cut glass?

Right in line with sequestering items behind locked cabinets. Is there really a massive theft ring for toothbrushes? Really? (And said TBs also have a new level of ‘hard plastic’ packaging.)

To be clear, I’ve confronted her bigotry & homophobia with resounding conviction many, many times over our 10 year ‘friendship.’ It’s just painfully obvious that she would rather keep those beliefs than keep me as a friend. (I still have no clue why she wanted to be my friend in the 1st place…)

Recently ‘broke up’ w/problematic ‘friend’. Mainly due to her bigotry/homophobia (although I gently referred to it as “a major philosophy mismatch.”) accidentally dialed her yesterday. Today she called me seeking apology from me. Now I need to clear her vitriol from my memory. Suggestions on how?

Civics Reminder: “President’s Day” was not created/formalized-in-law to honor ANY current president. It was the convenience-combination of Lincoln’s & Washington’s Birthdays. We can still honor and inspect the deeds of those two presidents without playing sycophant to the current WH occupant.

Kudos to parents @ grocery store who were helping their child (3-4yo?) address her iPad habit. Child was nearly screaming, parents calmly walked her around the store bringing out “things to look at, maybe try to read” off the shelves. Over the 30+mins, child visibly calmed & started reading/looking.

3 of the 5 bunches/bags of fruit & vegetables purchased last week had rotten produce inside the clusters/bags, where they were virtually invisible b4 buying. Phone call to store immediately upon unpacking groc, w/offer to send photos, was greeted with “sorry, nothing we can do about that.”

I’m here right now to simply say that spending the better part of four hours addressing an Apple account hack, registering new passwords, filing fraud reports for apple-pay-linked credit card & updating auto-pays for that CC is the WORST aspect of technological connectivity.

Respectfully, Governor, these issues are not due to a lack of training, but an execution of intentional Policy. N*em has said in interviews that these agents are “performing as instructed.” Focusing on training is missing the point entirely. A better trained Nazi is still a Nazi.

Our weird weather pattern has encouraged tons of weed growth. Spent the afternoon whipping down the weeds in the front yard. Looks better, not perfect… and, being OLD, I’m now too far on the “crippled” side of the equation for MY tastes! 😝 Topper: string trimmer self-destructed, entirely… 💸💸💸💸

I feel bad for the people who trundled out to that (sad) year-end “festival.” I could see the small carnival rides-all empty… because it was cold, rainy & pretty windy. Meanwhile, I was standing in the window sipping on warm ginger/lemon tea. Feel bad for the carnies, too. No pockets to shake down 😉

The small, rural, poor, very, very conservative (Red/MAGA) town I live in had a fireworks display last night around the midnight hour… during a heavy rainstorm. I’m here to tell you that inexpensive fireworks do not perform well in heavy rain. It was… interesting… to watch from my warm dining room.

Vivid memory: I actually cried at the pharmacy window after acquiring ACA coverage that included my asthma medications. My out-of-pocket went from $489/mo (more than my rent at the time,) to $4, representing a major life-change that enabled me to buy & finance a safe car. Everyone in line cheered!

The WOMEN who are saying things like “transaction complete” are either intentionally cruel or completely colonized by their cult and unable to apply rational thought to anything. To which I say a hearty Fuck You! I hope you are never in position to guide/lead young humans. /END

Also, none of that “argument” addresses the huge number of victims who were violently assaulted, drugged, trapped & terrified into compliance or silence.

The men who participated in that operation KNEW they were in the wrong. They also KNEW they had a good chance of getting away with it.

And none of that experience even remotely mirrors what happened to those young people. I was not trafficked or groomed. I was just teen-age-delusional. Those victims were abused & violated in ways that harmed them (permanently) and that manipulated their youth & vulnerability.

We were “in Love”, more accurately described as hormonal-driven lust & a desire to exert independence. When I became pregnant, our lives were set on a very difficult path. Our daughter is a lovely person, no regrets there. But the fact that we THOUGHT we knew enough is proof that we didn’t.

Some Folks are trying to argue that the girls involved in the JE/DJT sex trafficking operation “knew what they were doing, even at 13,14,15…”. I’m here to tell you that I became sexually active very young, by my choice, with a contemporary. I thought I knew what I was doing. I absolutely did not. 🧵

After extensive, hands-on research, can confirm that weeds do, in fact, grow like weeds. 🤣🌱

Watched some vids on YT yesterday on the topic of students (elem & HS) who are incapable of participating in their own education. Some of it is trained attitudes, but I think much of it can be attributed to repeated covid infections, which damage the brain. COVID is NOT over.

Shout Out to all the Payroll Staff who worked diligently this week to ensure staff received their paychecks. It’s so much more difficult to do when so many people are off work for the holiday. (Fixing time card errors, getting answers to important questions… all require people to be available.) ❤️🎄❤️🎄

Sweet moment#95: kids in the neighborhood must’ve recv’d a karaoke machine for Xmas. Heard them singing carols, having fun. Then, a young voice says “hey, it’s my sister’s turn. Give her the mic!” An angel-baby voice rings out singing Jingle Bells in perfect tune. SOOO sweet!! What a good brother😍🎄
