Here's a good idea. Scrapping business class could halve aviation emissions. But airlines makes extra profits from business class so they won't want to do it

The under taxation of air travel - offered through exemption from VAT, fuel duty and carbon taxation - sends the wrong message to households, encouraging them to spend precious disposable income overseas... properly taxing air travel could raise up to Β£6bn

LBA has made a new application to the Council to rewrite the night flight rules and make thousands more night flights. Bad news for local people, air quality and the climate. GALBA will fight this tooth and nail! Find out more and join us on our website: www.galba.uk/our-campaign...
If you're new to GALBA, or just want to find out what all the fuss is about, click on the link below to read about the LBA's plan for a massive increase in night time flying. More night flights would be bad news for local people, the air we breathe and our climate. www.galba.uk/our-campaign...
Check the facts about claims that airport expansion = economic growth. It really ain't that simples...
We need land to grow food, not biofuels for aviation
GALBA supports this campaign
To absolutely no one's surprise, the aviation industry admits that it isn't on track to cut its greenhouse gas emissions
Air pollution from ultra-fine particles from jet engines are all but ignored by the industry and govt - that's just wrong!
This is important for all people who live near airports that want to increase flights, especially at night
Air passengers exposed to extremely high levels of ultrafine particle pollution. Levels during boarding and taxiing were far above those defined as high by the World Health Organization

In the Netherlands, a bomb has been thrown into the garden of a well-known anti-airport expansion activist by two unknown individuals who then fled the scene, tires screeching.
Arguments seem to have given way to terror here.

Wouldn't it be great if this happened in the UK too?
Impressive work by a community that knows how to stand together. What they say is what we say too...
This is an excellent explanation of why the govt's headlong rush for airport expansions is wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. Thank you @flightfreeuk.bsky.social

You pay fuel duty. Why donβt billionaires?
This week, we launched WeWingAnyCar.com to help you qualify for the same tax breaks that private jets get.
Because tax loopholes shouldnβt just be for billionaires.
Theyβre for everyone.

Join us in Leeds on Saturday 15 November. As world leaders meet in Brazil, we'll march to call for urgent action to tackle climate change and speed up a fair transition from dirty fossil fuels to the clean energy world of the future. Assemble from midday to 1pm in Merrion Street Gardens, LS2 8NG.
Govt policy is so, so, so wrong. There is no alternative to stopping airport expansions if we are at all serious about limiting climate change. That's why we're taking the govt's reckless and irresponsible Jet Zero Strategy to court www.galba.uk/our-campaign...
It's crazy - the govt knows the truth and is simply ignoring it
BREAKING! New Leeds Bradford Airport expansion application due in November. That's bad news for the climate, air quality and people under the flight path. Find out more on this link:

The UKβs Climate Change Committee says aviation will be the UKβs highest emitting sector by 2040. All the targets for reducing aviation emissions are for 2050. That allows us to indulge in thinking about possibilities, rather than commercial reality. @theaef.bsky.social

GALBA is fully behind this - let's leave a liveable world for future generations
We totally agree with @theaef.bsky.social assessment below. The govt isn't even pretending to take its climate commitments seriously in respect of aviation. They're no better than the last govt. Didn't someone say something about change during the election campaign?
Gatwick expansion is a dreadful decision. Greenpeace UK's policy director Doug Parr says it "completely ignores the solid evidence that increasing air travel won't drive economic growth. The only thing it's set to boost is air pollution, noise and climate emissions". www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Just 8 days left to sign this Parliamentary petition calling on the govt to stop ALL airport expansions. If you havenβt already, please sign & share it today! petition.parliament.uk/petitions/71...
