At GAMA one thing I'm glad I did - took photos of the presentations and sent them to the speaker(s). Most sessions weren't recorded and so presenters wouldn't have an artifact of them speaking.

If you're creating a fantasy novel and you just got to the part where a character draws a map for the main character so they can describe the history and political situation of their region, here's a powerful tip: don't include that scene in your novel.
