The Ascension of Christ, by Adriaen van der Werff, 1710, πΈ by Issac Baldizon
this is curious to me from an ear training point of view, but the physicality of performing those instruments is very different
this seems very normal, playing the piano by reading music and playing the piano by ear are two different skill sets
I'm glad you're enjoying what you're playing!
oh, my bad for flipping that around - this seems normal to me, for what it is worth
and, you don't deserve to be criticized for not reading sheet music on piano - plenty of people play piano by ear!
different instruments have different performance traditions/practices that emphasize sheet music in different ways: no one expects a rock/pop guitarist to read sheet music, but jazz guitarists are expected to read lead sheets/chord changes (a specific type of sheet music)
huh, I thought it was just a big night for Emeril on here
79! With two minutes to play!
I had forgotten that JD Vance cast the tie-breaking vote to confirm Hegseth - nice job, buddy!
is Bam Adebayo going to score 80 points tonight?
also, I once went to the composer Yehudi Wyner's home where he has TWO Steinway Long A pianos (plus another Steinway...)
and/or the Steinway salesperson took them for a ride
I agree with this view (a home is not a concert hall), and your choice to waive it considering its a Long A
a Model B is a fine instrument, but the "Long A" is celebrated for its outstanding proportions that deliver phenomenal tone
in the words of Kevin Garnett after the Boston Celtics won the 2008 NBA Finals:
they could have spent half as much on the greatest piano design in the history of Steinway

I guess they can't stop giving that guy money
in the sauna, because they would stupidly put it in the sauna
the carnivore diet piano
BORING
that's a lot for a Model O! I wonder if they got one with a gaudy design
Bering strait
it's an uninspired choice for a home piano - too big (physically and sonically) unless you have a big recital room, and the smaller models (S, O, L, and M) are charming
Of course, the ideal home piano is the "Long A", which they stopped making in the 1940s (or circa), it is ideally proportioned
Based on the price (and simplicity's sake) I think we're probably looking at a Model B
Well they announced a concert opera commitment at Carnegie Hall over the next five years (the first program is "Tosca") so there is still time
They're doing a Marina AbramoviΔ-directed performance of "L'Histoire du Soldat"???
There was mountain cheese with hazelnuts and chestnuts, acorn dumplings with honeysuckle sauce, a latticed bilberry tart with whiterose cream, golden-crusted bread hot from the ovens, and a choice of spiced fruit cordial or borage an' rosehip tea.
I agree that it would be a justified move, but it would signal a very different and much more restorative response to this political period than I expect
