been watching a playthrough of Requiem and my god this game fucks so hard off rip

This is probably a semi-lukewarm take but I don’t think I’ve ever played a single game and thought the experience was improved by having weapon/tool/armor/item etc. durability mechanics. It’s literally only ever irritated me and in a lot of cases put me off the game entirely

mind you, the game part will still be there, but im trying to make it like a fun party game. you can build your deck, but its more so just going to end up being you picking your favorite creatures and lines to use, and will play like a weird mix of uno/go fish/match 3 with fakemons on top of it.

im not a big fan of how tcgs normally work and their need for constant balancing and ban lists and metas being a thing etc., so i want the game part to entirely take a backseat to the cards just being fun creatures to collect.

im pretty pleased with the art for this, i wasn't sure about it but i think it's turning out okay so far with this style. the actual cards themselves i mostly like but might give a little more design flair too, and i also wanna stick each cards element on there somewhere as well

Stumbled across YouTube videos recently for homemade TCGs and was reminded of all the cards I made when I was a kid. I dug some of the only remaining ones I could find from then out.

I really wanna make some proper ones digitally now. Really miss making stuff like this

the worst part of this for me is its just triggering like the most neurodivergent ass task avoidance in me. like brother in christ what a thing you've given me to do, i have to navigate somehow dealing with nintendos legal now, if they ever even respond to my email at all LMAO
