I agree with all of these points and try to do the same thing.
Another strategy not mentioned here is a @priteshraichura.bsky.social style check for listening.
Getting them to repeat back what you have said with name at the end, is an easy way to build class expectation of speaking in lesson…
Inspired by your previous work sheets, I have been making SLOP booklets for my own teaching.
My students love them for the amount of practice and variety it gives them.
I have tailored mine to Edexcel GCSE with combined and separate versions.
