Trump may want Iran to let ships through the strait, but I don't see how it's in Iran's interest to do so. Their best path is to try and achieve regime change in the US by crashing global markets.

In this house, we give space to people to express their support for people or causes as best they can because we weren't all born with the capacity to express ourselves the exact way everyone wants us to. Learn to take the W people.

Bush wasn't very bright, but he surrounded himself with people who could find their ass with both hands. Cheney was downright evil and several other pejoratives, but he wasn't dumb. If you could convert brains to electricity, the entire Trump cabinet couldn't power 2 watt bulb.

How do they miss this? Just look at the wall-to-wall morons in his cabinet and leadership positions fer. If brains were rocket fuel they wouldn't have enough power to propel a mosquito halfway around an anal bead.

The markets betting on TACO Trump isn't entirely irrational, but stocks being where they are despite all of the economic indicators is 100% irrational.

In the stage of my father-in-laws dementia where he was mostly present but prone to forgetfulness and errors, he would obsess over gaining access to a bicycle. We had to talk about bikes for fifteen to twenty minutes at the start of our weekly zoom calls during the COVID times. This rhymes:

When you read about those ancient civilizations that dominated a region and then were gone seemingly overnight and we always assume war or disease, but who knows - maybe they had corrupt, pedo leaders too and decided to just leave. Or their Trump demanded castration to show featly.

Does anyone know where the goalposts are anymore? Did we forget to bring them on the filed for this one?

Bush the Elder, on January 16th, the year of our Lord 1991, said this before starting "Gulf War I: The Prequel": "Our troops will have the best possible support in the entire world, and they will not be asked to fight with one hand tied behind their back."

We are creatures that learn through storytelling. We are evolutionarily the same as our ancestors who huddled around the fire. Why is this still a mystery to some people...

So half the people at that wedding saw it and understood it so by the end of the wedding most of the people there probably knew they had a guy with a Nazi tattoo singing at the wedding. This isn’t the defense you think it is.

So what you’re saying is β€œFree Speech Is Back!”(tm) Because we all know this is the only type of free speech the Republicans are interested in.

How ironic. The person who pays the biggest bribe gets the kiss of death. Love this for them.

Also, we nerds have been very good at sharing our code bases over the years and answering questions at sites like stackoverflow. Huge volume of good code and best practices to train on. And in the end, either it works or it doesn't, and there are many ways to get to "it works." Nuance need not apply

I'm a single dev and development is only a small part of my job these days that I fit it in where I could. Claude has been a game changer. It helped me modernize my older code, and it's been phenomenal at helping me knock out needed utilities that I would back burner for lack of time.

We are witnessing in real-time the de-professionalization of the American military. Hopefully this will give political space to cut their god damn budget - assuming we survive their break with reality.

He's an effective unflappable communicator who seems to live his principles. I like him. He's good at tying the rational argument to the emotional outcome. Can he win at the national level as a gay man? He is a man and is white which seems like half the battle in this country...

CNN was never so happy as when Wolf Blitzer was reporting on location while SCUD missiles were inbound. It was obscene.

What damage is this illegal war doing to the military's reputation as non-partisan, by the book organization? Gotta fuel some centrist voter appetite to cut crap out of their budget - especially if they aren't seen as supporters of constitutional law.

When a war is this unpopular, you just don't want to give any oxygen to the opposition fire. It might lead to some rash decisions - like not bombing people or cutting the military's budget.

Colin Powell up there so obviously lying for Bush and Cheney with his little vial props. Meanwhile, the IAEA screaming "Iraq possess two nuclear things: Jack and Shit" and all the best and brightest boys and girls rush to the microphone to say, "Well, those vials were pretty scary."
