Post war,
An age of enlightenment, in Sangehili space
Just as a heads up bluesky is quietly segregating accounts by language spoken. I wondered why I couldn't see my bilingual mutuals' posts and now I know why. Under languages and language setting make sure to set the preferred display language to "none" if you want to see your ESL friends!
Thereβs going to be Covid style shortages of cars, TVs and even washing machines and fridges, then job losses because assembly lines canβt source solid state memory, just so the stupidest person you know can state with 100% confidence a chatbot confirmed dinosaurs coexisted with humans.
"While this censorship might seem brazenly anti-constitutional to most Americans, it has been the reality faced by incarcerated individuals for decades. In the name of 'security,' prison officials have punished and even killed people for possessing literature they deemed suspect." @theintercept.com
digital drawing of my oc kiesling pointing a sniper rifle at an off screen target, in the background are grassy plains, trees and mountains with blue skies and clouds. he has a focused expression and dirt and blood on his face
Kiesling on Zeta Halo, getting ready to save someone dear to him. Returning a favor. Challenging myself to do more backgrounds these days

autonomous delivery robots pushed into canals absolutely should not be humanized it's 50s SF brainrot gibberish to do so as a journalist
Nest failure due to drone use is a real thing. Please do comment to help birds and other wildlife against an absolutely stupid unnecessary hazard. Honestly, who the fuck needs a drone.
I think it would be beneficial for truly large communities to actually have forums again, Discord is an info loss nightmare. The thing Discord was absolutely killer for was if you had a group of like 10 friends who liked hanging out on the Internet, and it will be miserable to replace that.
Skype ran like dogshit and looked awful and everyone knew it. AIM was fucking AIM and it died in a handful of years. Slack was Slack. I never gave a shit about voice or video but I knew the tools that existed for those also sucked.
I remember when Discord didn't have video and it was still a killer app. You could just paste images into it! You could see messages you received while you were at work/school/the grocery store! Channels were a big deal cause you weren't at the conversational mercy of 3 people who play the same MMO!
Discord replaced instant messenger + persistent forum + conference call tool + whatever shitty way you hacked together to watch youtube with your friends + image hosting service + sending mediafire download links for small files and it was 1) a big fucking deal and 2) only possible by bleeding cash.
Oh, we're all off Discord now. I use Witchhazel now. Lindworm doesn't let you stream your screen. Paprika is actually a foreign surveillance app. Dude, send me your Dingo. I can't sign up for Jester Plus. I don't like the UI for Cabinet's mobile app. Just toss me your Spork. We're on Spork now.
And there's no killer alternative yet. It's been a big deal to see messages I wasn't online for, send images, and fucking screenshare. I came from AIM!!!
Anything that works as well as Discord did will have the same incentives to monetize and enshittify when the early capital runs out, too...
cosplay is also art and you're really good at both!!
so many of the small indignities of daily life come from us being denied the ability to tell a rich man in a tech company to fuck off. minesweeper has microtransactions. paid services have ads. the opt out says maybe later. the drive thru is a broken chatbot. your car is an ipad. fuck off! fuck off!
oh btw the podcast ghosted me lol, don't know if it was me or them but it could be either or.
Lastly, I think it's not an everyone movie. I wouldn't recommend it to my dad. But because it knows its audience likes a specific kind of horror viewing experience (guy struggling with stressful puzzle he doesn't understand and lore you half-see through that) I think it serves that very well.
Importantly to me, also, it never actually makes fun of itself for being what it is. It never goes for a stupid joke about the Big Rectangle Camera Button. There's no cringey self-conscious squirming about any of it. Iron Lung (film) loves Iron Lung (game) and loves you, the audience that also did.
I keep thinking about how actually, Markiplier was uniquely positioned to make something like this. Well-read in indie horror games. Lot of experience as a solo performer in the era before everything was livestreamed/chat-interactive. Good sense for how to get this specific audience locked in.
