My point was that the same people who are celebrating a murder conviction also want to remove birthright citizenship. The problem being that the only mode of attack they have to do that without an amendment is trying to argue that the part of article 14 sec 1 that mentions jurisdiction doesn't apply

I agree. Non-citizens in the states are subject to the jurisdiction of the states. Which is also relevant in the wording in the constitution that grants birthright citizenship.
