Cast your vote for Wakefield teenager nominated for award after being inspired by seriously injured sister A Wakefield teenager has been nominated for an Yorkshire award after being inspired to fundraise for a charity that supported his seriously injured sister.

🌟 Vote for Elliott! 🌟

Elliott Teal, student at @grange.outwood.com, has been nominated for Local Fundraiser of the Year 2026 in the Yorkshire Choice Awards, and now needs the public vote!

Last year, he hiked 24 miles (38.6km) to raise funds for Day One Trauma Support.

A donation of safety goggles has been delivered to Outwood Academy Danum by Arco, a leading local provider of personal protective equipment. The equipment is already being put to use across multiple departments within the academy, including D&T, Engineering, Art, and Science.
