For those who say she just got transferred to a cushy job: She had the power to hire, fire and promote thousands, implement policies that destroy the lives of millions, line her own pockets, kill, and cover up. Now (unless the Avengers show up in costume) she has no power.
Everybody has a take on Trump's "thinking" when he fired Noem. Here's an alternative take. We've just seen a demonstration of the power of impeachment to strip power from an official who ignores the Constitution, laws , and their oath of office.
This is the only way Kristi Noem or any regime felon will face Justice. There is none forthcoming from the department with that name and federal pardons always lurk in the background.
I predict this will happen. He doesn't want the spotlight to shift from him to her trial and he won't take the risk of being implicated in her testimony.

It's good that this is happening now. It wasn't clear that the current crop of congress critters is too ossified, or timid, or corrupt, etc. to honor their oath or listen to their constituents. Impeachment would have failed even after the midterms. If you can't change the people, change the people.
