A spread explaining the setting of Undead Paradise. It covers the basics of Roleplaying, introduces the main pitch of the game, and explains what might be expected during a session/campaign. Each player, except one, creates a reawakened member of the undead. The zombie's body has been transformed, granting new tools to explore this strange life. These abilities have become deeply ingrained into your being. This is represented by a PCβs Classification, Attributes, and Skills. A new ecosystem dominates the wasteland. Mutated flora and fauna inhabit the wilds, some of which may be hostile towards the undead. In Undead Paradise, memories play a key role in how the Players engage with the game. PCs will utilize Long-Term Memories (LTM) and Short-Term Memories (STM) throughout their journey into Undead Paradise, as well as influence the memories of those around them. Although the undead do not require sustenance to survive, people can still derive joy from human experiences. Consuming delicious food, listening to music, watching and recounting stories from old, are all fun activities that the reawakened undead can benefit from.As is often the case following a civilization-ending disaster, opportunists may seek to grab power in the vacuum of authority. In Undead Paradise, interpersonal relationships play a key role in rebuilding society. Establishing connections with helpful NPCs can prove a useful resource when navigating a broken world. However, some undead may have nefarious ambitions. How your PCs engage with adversarial folk is for them to deliberate and decide.
A pre-gen character sheet for the game Undead Paradise. This is for a character named Owen Walsh, who is a Bright-Eyes zombie type. Before the plague brought civilization to an end, he worked as an engineer. This created a strain in his relationship with his wife, Emma, as he struggled to manage a healthy work-like balance. Owen survived the initial collapse of society, traveling with a camp of other survivors, alongside Emma, becoming a newfound family for him. Unfortunately, Owen sacrificed his life, luring a zombie horde away from the camp, allowing Emma to escape to safety. Although he cannot recollect it clearly, upon reawakening he is haunted by a memory of riding on the back of a horse and firing a machine gun while leading a horde of zombies into a human settlement. How will Owen adapt to his new undead life? What happened to Emma? and will he ever see her again?
