Read my new column. I decided to be more detailed about an effort to get me to shut up about #MeToo revelations. It’s important to understand how the hush-hush behind-scenes silencing and punishment work. Women get caught in a quandary due to financial and career threats.
And the one acknowledgement I read of her horrible treatment praised her for taking the abuse without causing problems. Her poor treatment wasn't just from the SFF bigshots, but from the community that chose not to support her and let her take the full brunt it.
Something that has been bugging me about this -- the majority of the SFF community's posts "commemorating" her has been transactional (I liked her because she did X for me).

A lot of solutions to this problem that won't alienate your readers, especially when you have some resources available.
Giant best-selling, represented-by-a-full-service-agency author telling book clubs to f'off because they don't pay you to sift through the AI slop is a choice.
Figured I'd bump this once since it has been a month, and I'm still (not really) surprised that there has been not a single comment on this apology by SFWA that I can find. I guess people are really worried that they might upset the wrong people, er... person.

Final typographic checks are always important to the layout. In this example the lines on the right justified side of this paragraph need some changes. The repetition of "had" "had" and the d in "laughed" and the "own" rhymes should be adjusted so the eye isn't drawn to the patterns in the text
