On this week's pod we posed a dilemma. What would you rather see:
a) Tottenham finish 18th and are relegated, or
b) Tottenham finish 18th but are reprieved because Man City are relegated for the 115+ charges
(there's no c - it's a dilemma not a trilemma)

I have theory about Thames FC, about why they were created and soon folded.
It was around this time when Arsenal were looking to takeover Orient and have them as a feeder club. I reckon some entrepreneur was trying to set up Thames for that purpose but lost interest once the Orient deal was blocked

I think they used the cricket green in the southeast corner of the park to play on - when the 1861 club was formed, the arena was still one of the giant fountains there.

There's an alternate reality where Henry Norris made other choices. Where Fulham are the dominant team in London, playing at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea don't exist and Arsenal are still in Woolwich
Your list of examples of clubs created to fill a stadium could also include Crystal Palace

Sound of Football Podcast 645 - Throwing in the towel
Is an increased reliance on corners and long throws to create goals a cause for concern? Is it something lawmakers should be called on to rectify?
NEW PODCAST: www.sofpodcast.com/2026/03/soun...
Now that goals from corners and long throws are mainstream, is it time the lawmakers did something about them?
Also this week discuss Arsene Wenger's offside idea which has been approved to be trialled in Canada.
Yes, it's all VAR's fault. Again.

I never agreed with those who said that Slot had more than his fair share of good luck last season. But to me, it did seem that there was an absence of bad luck in the campaign. It seems to have come back in spades now.
