I need the Americans to do something about this guy asap because I just cannot fight in a guerilla land war when he invades Manitoba, my back is very bad

I'm excited for this one! Loved the book and the reviews have been promising
Exactly. The arts getting through basically unscathed is practically a miracle.
Totally agree but considering the bloodbath it felt like we were all bracing for, it feels like as big of a win as we could have possibly received.
Jesus Christ the world does NOT need a trillionaire.
And congratulations to the Canadian Arts Coalition, PACT, and everyone who worked so hard on the letter writing campaign and advocacy!
Well, the budget came out and it's not as bad for the arts as I feared?$363 million in savings over five years from Canadian Heritage is, obviously, a big hit, but it doesn't feel like the bloodbath, especially for the CCA, we had been anticipating. Am I reading it wrong?
Tomorrow, my production of The Seagull opens. It's a big one with lots to prove. Rebooted company, new space, first time adapting a play (let alone, one of my all-time favs).
I just have to keep reminding myself of that classic Seagull quote "Theatre is endurance. It is faith."
I agree I thought it was an excellent production of one of my all-time favourites. Really happy I saw it.
"Bluebirds is a truly special experience, an achievement that far surpassed my expectations and which will likely stay with me for a good while to come."
Wow. I am one happy director.
Really enjoyed BLUEBIRDS at Theatre on the Ridge โ gorgeous outdoor venue and beautiful little play, given an economical, tender production by Iain Moggach. Swell performances, too.
No formal review from me for this one, but get to Port Perry if ya can!

Amen!!

A huge thank you to @ourtheatrevoice.bsky.social for the interview! It was nice to catch up and share what's been going on in my post-TBTB life
www.ourtheatrevoice.com/items/iain-m... A catch up conversation with artist, @imoggach.com. He will direct BLUEBIRDS this summer at Port Perry's Theatre on the Ridge. Read all about how he's doing after departing from his position at Barrie's Theatre by the Bay.
Sounds very promising! I especially like the focus on supporting remounts and smaller companies. SO important.
Yeah I've been thinking about that too. I WAS SO HAPPY WITH IT ๐ญ
Good on em for apologizing I guess lol
I'm in England right now and am so terrified that people will think I am American I have started using my rusty English RP accent from theatre school days.
It'll be interesting to hear how a new production of 'Come from Away' lands with audiences considering, you know, everything going on
Agreed!
Welcome!
Therapy is a great when you find the right therapist. Highly recommend.

It is wild to look back and think of just how much she had to overcome. And the fact that she was such a generous, encouraging, principled person through it all is a testament to the strength of her character. BIIIG shoes to fill.
If it looks like a project 2025,
sounds like a project 2025,
Smells like a project 2025
Pretty sure it is project 2025...

When @vernthiessen.bsky.social and I were bouncing ideas of political scientists who could write the introduction to Icemen, I threw my dad's name out there. He loved the idea, it happened, and it is EXCELLENT.
I couldn't be more thrilled!

It was a masterpiece.
I was so impressed by this. Good on her.
Is this new or something that I am just seeing now?
