If you ever have to fight with US medical insurance companies, keep every document, every case number, and keep phone records handy. Always. Don't give up. Collect that evidence like you're Sherlock-fucking-Holmes. 8/8

So now it isn't just the denial of care we're going to a state hearing about. UH fucked themselves over by not providing proper info on documentation. So I might actually win this. This is huge honestly. 7/8

So basically, UnitedHealthcare kept purposefully closing my appeals on their end and restarting them, and they refused to send documentation because they wanted it to look like I withdrew the appeal, which I did not. They CREATED a situation to sabotage my care. And I fucking caught them. 6/8

I waited a few weeks thinking there was no chance my word would be enough. I got a notice in the mail today that the state bureau of hearings found that not only did UnitedHealthcare LIE about the appeal process, they didn't provide the appropriate follow-up info on the only denial notice I got. 5/8

I sent an appeal to the state hearing board, and included a statement of events, as well as all the notices I saved, phone records to prove communication happened, and all the case numbers I was given for appeals. 4/8

I eventually, I got to a point where I was told to proceed to a state hearing. So I did. I requested one and everything. Imagine my surprise when I was denied a state hearing, a basic right. I felt like something was up when I saw UH got a copy of the denial. I suspected they'd lied. 3/8

I kept every notice, and noted down that they refused to send me further denial notices, only 'appeal approved' notices. They also stopped sending my therapist notices. I kept getting jerked around with different info every time I called. I suspected they were sabotaging the process. 2/8

I just fucked UnitedHealthcare over, and I am positively GLOWING. I've been fighting to keep my trauma specialist, who I haven't seen now since last October, since UnitedHealthcare decided to drop her. They were super shady about the whole appeals process and tried to derail it and fuck it up. 1/8
