Back when I did PalmOS programming, I really appreciated that the meager resources forced efficiency and design. Space was at a premium and memory leaks crashed the devices quickly.

I don't get the sense that programmers on more forgiving devices ever needed to learn design or efficiencies.

I want this as a poster to hang in my classroom.

Learning to do anything well requires the ability to push through doing it not-so-well.

I'm a teacher and I see too many kids who don't fully understand this and give up too easily.

Today's return-to-school for staff (for students, it's next Monday). I'm optimistic but my bladder is not quite ready to return.
