Hey @openrightsgroup.bsky.social, love the work you all do but you should really set up domain verification on your account (bsky.social/about/blog/4...). Otherwise someone could easily create a spoof version of your account, say by adding a hypen somewhere in your name.. ๐
wow.. missed that one! That is exciting.
It's a nice feeling knowing that after popping ones virtual head over the parapet into areas of Bluesky occupied by those with less... savory views, I won't suddenly start seeing the same people's posts algorithmically presented to me without my consent.
If I am feeling brave.. I may endeavor to port this to NixOS.. but that could be some work..
In my short experience of self-hosting, the quality of this repo: github.com/bluesky-soci... is high and much more comprehensive then many other projects that people seek to self host. My point? The future, imo, looks bright for truly de-centralized Bluesky.
For those saying that hosting your own PDS is currently unachievable for most, I don't necessarily disagree.. but I just had a read through the PDS installer script here: github.com/bluesky-soci...

Wow... These photos are truly something. Especially the one over the lake. We went to Northern Sweden (around Jokkmokk) in January this year and this takes me right back.. It's magical place.
