Anyway, trans rights are human rights, y'all. It's not complicated.
We are heavily skewed towards SFF, but our horror contingent in Vancouver is growing. One of the things we’re hoping to start this Fall/Winter is to facilitate genre-specific meetups. In the meantime, you can connect with other horror writers at our general meetups or on our Discord server.
Another tip is to approach community building with the attitude of “how can I help?” How can you empower others to be their best creative selves? How can you support your fellow writers?
If everyone in the community has this attitude, everyone benefits.
Our biggest tip is that you can’t wait for someone to do it for you! Our founder was frustrated with the difficulty of connecting with other genre writers in Vancouver, and started this group in 2018 to gather them together. Since then, we’ve grown to more than 300 members.
