West Branch Falls on the West Branch of the Sturgeon River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula for #WaterfallWednesday! (Sorry, grabbed the wrong video earlier! 😅)

Two old coppiced hazel trees rise from thick moss-covered bases, their trunks splitting upward into clusters of slender stems. The moss spreads over the roots and lower wood like a soft green cloak. Between the two trees is a natural opening that feels almost like a doorway into the woodland beyond. Sunlight filters through branches overhead, lighting the moss so it glows bright green against the darker bark. Ferns and fresh spring plants grow at the mossy base of the trunks, and the narrow gap between them draws the eye inward as if inviting the viewer to step quietly into the woodland.

Walk right in...
