I appreciate the update.
I have a fondness for my early career steps and GDC. I am hoping they are heading in a positive direction for the space.
It feels to be turning more con-esque.
I haven't been to GDC in 20+ years. When it first moved to the Moscone Center. Was more technical demos on game engines, tooling, etc.
To the point, if it still costs what it does and blocking public spaces...its more brand than content at this point.

As someone who has torn both of his rotator cuffs...more than once, look into PT if it persists for a while. Did wonders for me if you keep at it.
