Dazzling brilliance by #TwoSetViolin tonight at The Barbican. Fun and hilarity, but also top-drawer musicianship. Bravo! #London #ClassicalMusic

"Beware the aisles of merch."

Excellent reminder of how journalism (or at least some journalism) works.
FWIW I did a compare/contrast of print media headlines for my GCSE Sociology back when most others were black and white. Nothing new under the Sun, but depressing neverthelessβ¦
What ever happened to the Michelin Man? I hear he re-tyred. #LunchPun
Leaving aside the tautology, and the dubious notion of "gaining" consciousness, this is bonkers on pretty much every level. Claude is not some single, central entity. It is a matrix of numbers that gets deployed to thousands of distinct running instances. Are they all maybe-or-not conscious now?
Spreading some #JohnWilliams love on a dull Friday afternoon. There's so much to love about this piece: the escalating tension, the modulations, the magnificent minor-mode "Ark" motif, and the female chorus recalling great biblical epics. A superb cue. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgK0...
Indeed, those eyes have seen it all before, havenβt they? #pspspsps π
Maybe βForce it into a sauceβ is a better (more subtle) clue.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner - as they say.
Was his opponent asleep? That move was somewhat telegraphed!
I've been doing a lot of cryptic crosswords recently. My brain now insists on trying to imagine clues for random words. I just came up with this one, which is also a rhyming couplet, so I'm quite chuffed with it:
Fundamental force
Puts it in a sauce (7)
Any takers? #crossword #wordpuzzle
Alert cat postures are just the cutest thing! π»
ER has popped up on Netflix, so I watched the pilot for probably the first time since its original broadcast and it's a goddamn masterpiece. This is a show that arrived fully-formed. I might get hooked all over again.
Ooh, I might have to give it a look. I gave up on the franchise long ago.
Perhaps she was soured by that whole experience with the "I've got flu, babe" jingle for Night Nurse.
As an occasional hobbyist music creator, I have found the growth of AI to be de-motivating for exactly this reason. I used to only worry about people thinking my music was crap. Now I also have to worry about people thinking, even if it's not crap, that it's AI-assisted.
Reminds me of when I bought adhesive numerals to label our wheelie bins with the house number. I got them from Amazon, and was then flooded with recommendations for other numerical digits that I might want to try. Think harder, Amazon.
I had to book car parking at St Neots railway station the other day. Through the magic of third-party cookies, Facebook is now trying to tempt me with special offers for various other railway stations that I might want to park in, which strikes me as an oddly forlorn piece of targeted advertising.
As much as people complain about AI, you have to admit that the technology is astonishing. I would never have thought this possible...
The house I grew up in is still there, and other families have lived in it. I think about the strangeness of that sometimes. Three other of my previous accommodations have since been demolished, though. I seem to have that effect on buildings.
Trumpington Road, Cambridge, has pot holes so deep that there might be balrogs living in them.
The prevalence of AI slop on social media makes me feel really sorry for those cats that can actually play the guitar.
But at least you can swig from the bottle without the cap trying its darndest to lacerate your lips.

Wow, I never knew that The Oceanides was your No. 1. I don't have it quite that high on my own list, but it's great to see some love for this amazing work. I wish it would be programmed more. I've yet to hear a live performance.
What are your views on Luonnotar? (I love it!)
How in the heck has it taken me this long to discover the #LeagueOfGentlemen anniversary specials?? They're almost a decade old. Have they really been on #iPlayer that whole time without my even knowing they existed?
Anyway, they were a real good treat! Mmmm! #AllesKlar
Bit early, I think. Perhaps "Happy Chinese New Year, if I don't see you before" would be acceptable.
I just overheard someone saying "Happy New Year" so I'm calling the police.
An intelligent, wonderful film. "Abbott is death process" has to be one of the most memorable on-screen captions of all time.
Today's ear worm has been the "Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra" from the soundtrack to #IndianaJones and the Last Crusade. #NowPlaying #FilmMusic #JohnWilliams www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IFm...
