I wonder if there's a class that tends to have high strength, a rage ability, and a historic stereotype of illiteracy that Minsc could have been in bg3? It feels like such an oversight to make him a low strength ranger who uses a longsword as a finesse weapon. Like NOTHING about that makes sense
He's a class that didn't exist in BG1, and characters from BG1 could be brought over to BG2, so he has the same kit in BG2 probably for consistency's sake. He's a high-strength two handed weapon user who has a berzerker rage ability in those games, which sounds like it translates to 5e as not ranger
Aside from messing with the game balance and making bg1 really easy with certain kits, this makes Minsc seem like a really strange character who has no business being a ranger. I'm sure there's some type of retcon to explain this but nothing about him being a ranger makes sense because he's NOT
Unfortunately this doesn't seem clear to a new generation of players since the kinda dogshit "remaster" that is the only version of bg1 & bg2 that is readily available to play "corrects" the lack of barbarian and berzerker by including it and other kits/loadouts from bg2 to bg1

The parallels between LLMs and organized religion are way too many to ignore. Each developer gets to control the output's bias, each user has routine access to that output and bias privately and separately from other people in their (real life) community, confidence is not tied to fact or truth

Man I really loved the internet. Mood boards from my projects are becoming increasingly physical media. Books, art pieces I can hold, stuff I see at the park, my sketchbook. The sheer volume of bullshit that LLMs spit out make online searches without "before:2022-11-30" pretty much worthless
This kind of shit really pisses me off. "AI" "use" is not harmless and seriously damages the quality of the free internet. The amount of people's time it wastes is unfathomable. It doesn't even matter if it "works" or not; if you use LLMs in public facing settings you are part of the problem
- Is this code wrong because it was written by AI, or is it an honest mistake from an inexperienced human contributor?
- What do you do when you ask a PR author if they used AI because you're suspicious, and they all reply "yes I used it to write the PR description because I'm bad with English"?
