Why I Canceled My US Mint Subscription for 2026 Sets The prices for the annual Uncirculated and Proof sets for 2026 at the US Mint have gone through the roof for seemingly no reason at all (they're not silver or gold), so I've made the unfortunate decision to cancel my subscription. The new prices are: Uncirculated Set 2026 - $124.50 Proof Set 2026 - $107.00 For some reason, they've decided to price me out of annual clad sets. For context, 2025's prices were: Uncirculated Set 2025 - $33.25 Proof Set 2025 - $40.25 If there's something very special about these sets for the 250 anniversary, then maybe I'll reconsider, but that's a heavy emphasis on the "maybe." These prices make zero sense, and are absolutely ridiculous. I'm very disappointed.

Mistborn movie(s), and a Stormlight Archive TV series are in the works! The Stormlight Archive is one of my favorite series, so I'm really excited. I just finished Stephen King's 11/22/63 and was looking for my next read. Mistborn it is!

2025 Fantasy Football Roundup Since I posted my drafts at the beginning of the season, I figured I'd post an update on what happened in those leagues: From the first draft, I won the championship! I ended the regular season in third (9-5). I also ended with the third most points for, and second most points against. It was a stressful season. The QB position was rotational, but I ended up with Trevor Lawrence in the end on a hot streak, and brought home the gold. This is my third time winning this league, with wins coming every 4 years (2017, 2021, 2025).

Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles – Chapter 4: In the Name of Love This chapter has a lot of JP grinding for the 100% class achievement, so I sped that up 8x. Cutscenes and most dialogue at normal speed. The Midlights Deep fights are slowed down to 2x speed. Yes, I know I missed a couple of treasure items, and I forgot to do the books, but I went with 100% achievement completion. Is ‘L on the Rim’ a Coin Error? Find Out! The phrase "L on the rim" often gets thrown around on eBay, with some claiming it refers to a rare error on the penny where the letter "L" in Liberty is printed on the edge of the coin. A lot of new collectors will also pop up on Reddit asking about it, due to the misinformation proliferated on eBay. But here's the thing: L on the rim is not an error at all. It's normal wear and tear. It adds no value to the coin, and does not make it more collectible.

I'm a fairly active reader on coin subreddits, so I've been thinking about making a short PSA about this for a while. If the L in Liberty is on the rim of your penny, it's not an error.
