And there it is. Trying to bring the National Rifle Association (NRA) into the UK. It was only a matter of time.

you can discuss plenty of topics surrounding a trans person, such as their favorite films or whether gold or silver jewelry looks best on them. what you can't "discuss" is whether they deserve rights

I am so juvenile. My husband has kept me laughing for 40 years with his expressive bottom. Le Petomane is his hero.

There are SO many variables, not just explosivity! Smelliness, reach and entertainment value amongst them.

My guess is that he will get bored because he’s not winning and will just pull out the ships and planes and head to Cuba. I give it 2 weeks before this happens.

What with Blair on ‘getting involved in Middle East wars of choice’ and now this, I feel we’re just in need of George Osborne to chime in on ‘how public services feel underinvested in’ to get the full caboodle of unwanted advice.

I’ve read The Prince and I’m pretty sure that Machiavelli didn’t say that. He did say that the henchman who came in and did The Prince’s dirty work ended up with his top half and bottom half on either side of a Piazza, so Stephen Miller had better watch his back.

This article is eviscerating in its snark, and led me down a rabbit hole of Wikipedia pages of the aristocracy that finished with this section about John Hervey, 7th Marquess of Bristol.
TLDR: Maybe we shouldn't eat the rich, but only because they've all got CJD.

Did you know that magnolia petals taste of ginger? Tried one for the first time last year - they're delicious! Go for the white ones with a hint of pink, otherwise the flavour is quite strong!

I know I’ve got some Labour local gov’t types following me, so I want to say this clearly so that you can share it internally as appropriate: I will never again vote Labour while these policies, or Wes Streeting, are in place. I will not vote Labour at any level because of this.

THIS. If you’re in central Glasgow tonight please close your windows; if you have to be out please wear the best mask you have available. If you can smell it, you’re at risk.

Not really. Leaving that cop with a thermometer up his bum ensured a non-patient storyline for most of the third season.
ER was a great show that wasn’t even interested in why the patients ended up there.

Ah Alex, only cash or Crypto makes it a ‘direct payment’, didn’t you know? And I see he’s withdrawn from the thread.

Re. Binge watching: I’ve never paid for Sky, Netflix or Disney so I’ve never seen The Sopranos or Breaking Bad and I think I’d love those shows. As for House, I really liked that, and you need to know that the final episode was the best ending for ANY series.

Opera is not dying, Timothée, it's thriving. In Europe alone, 14m a year attend (2.5m under 25s) worth €10bn. Since 2000 La Traviata had 30,000 performances. In its lifetime it's been seen by half a billion people and recorded 291 times. Check back in 180yrs to see how Marty Supreme is doing, yeah?

"Sattar’s husband contacted the Home Office, which said they did not have the CORRECT VISAS to enter the United Kingdom. Every member of the family is a BRITISH national and had their UK passports in hand while attempting to board the plane."
I think they meant they didn't have the correct VISAGES.

Coastguard Joe and Petunia 1970s Vintage Advert
YouTube video by Malcolm Tilsed
I preferred the Coastguard ad, it summed up a British day at the seaside (see also, ‘Albert and the Lion’).
