you can tell Wired has been doing good journalism lately because there's been increased whining by the extraction class about how Wired mysteriously changed in the decade since tech titans fully revealed themselves as sociopaths

Serious question: how do mechs dissipate heat in the vacuum of space? The lore mentions heat sinks, but heat sinks normally rely on transferring thermal energy to a surrounding medium (air, water, coolant, etc.). In va... more

the funniest aspect of the Grammarly thing is that they rolled the dice on screwing a bunch of people who:
1) Know how to communicate their discontent well
2) Tend to lean anti-AI
3) Have large platforms to pummel you on
it's the greedy idiot picking a fight with Reacher, but for word nerds

also, works that are either minimalist and really pretty or more aggressive sounding might be more accessible to me. But I'm up for anything

I'm not sure exactly. I think because classical composers don't have a "discography" so to speak, I don't know where to start. That's why I kinda mentioned trying to find a longer work that might feel more like an "abum" to me.
I also bounce of the harpsichord pretty hard.

I used to interview rappers for several years for a small national magazine called WonkaVision. I interviewed people like Del The Funky Homosapien, El-P (before his Run the Jewels days), Atmosphere, Girl Talk, and KRS-One

I've struggled to get into classical music in the past, but I'm trying to broaden my horizons here.
Anyone have suggestions of something I can really sink my teeth into? Not just a song, but an entire symphony or opera or something?

switching to a Kobo e-reader has been awesome. Really a first class experience. My only beef is that I haven't been able to jailbreak my Amazon Kindle books yet.
I leave them there in hopes that one day consumer protections will be a thing again

I feel like another thing that hasn't been spoken about at all is that even if AI was creating more efficiency, knowledge workers would never own up to it, or use that time to do more work. They would just be thankful for the breathing room and less stress

my tech boss is like this about indie music stuff. He'll just casually drop stuff like, "Oh yeah, Bjork and I were dancing on stage at this concert one time, and..." Like, okay, man, are you really concerned about these KPIs?

The Bam Adebayo's 83-point game is landing the perfect balance of Horseshit and Delightful for me. Doing this sort of thing against tanking teams is ethical to me, and as likely a cure for tanking as anything the league could do in terms of messing around with the lottery odds.
