The pronoun labeler, which was by far the most useful labeler on the site, was deleted by its creator. But thanks to @ripperoni.com there’s a new one available. I highly recommend it. It’s a great way to share your pronouns or see someone else’s pronouns at a glance.

My etsy shop has been closed since September by the double-whammy of the strike and the US de minimis. The vast majority of purchases came from the US so it's been rough. I haven't been too optimistic about being able to re-open anytime soon 😔

one thing that would be cool, when prominent creators turn out to be terrible people, would be if we didn't have to go through this performative dance of insisting that their work was never good in the first place.

Obviously people tell stories that are meant to move us, and make us feel things. That's normal. But not to the point where it causes immense anxiety or feelings of betrayal.

Enjoy a story that moves you, feel all the feelings, process them, and then move on.

I have been mulling this over for a few years, ever since I stepped back from participating in fandoms. I truly believe the reason fandom spaces get so volatile is because it attracts way too many people using their fav canon character as a coping mechanism and substitute for proper therapy.

When you stake your mental health on stories and characters that are not your own, you are surrendering your personal power. You are placing all your reliance on something you have zero control over.

Do you draw on the same computer you use for work? I find when my workspace doubles as my personal space it's harder to draw/do things on the computer after. When I'm freelancing I always shift to video games because it's in a different spot in my home.

OC-led projects are, imo, the best way to go because it gives people full creative control of the world, the characters, and the story. Imagine it everyone stopped wasting their time hate-watching and channeled that energy into creating the stories they want to see...

One of the most interesting phenomena I've observed is that some of the biggest haters of certain media are former fans who felt "betrayed" by the path the creator took. And the obsession with hate-watching is WILD.

If I ever ended up in a creator role of a large piece of media... I'd literally delete all my socials and focus on creating. Fandom culture as a whole is just too chaotic and unhinged. And I'm saying that as someone who has participated in fandoms for decades!
