Incredibly, I've been hassled by airport mall cops much more for being trans at every major liberal city airport than in any tiny red state airport

Once I have full control over all my facial muscles it's over for you bitches
Staples out is definitely the way to live life. Now if only chin swelling would settle down a little...
To be pedantic about it, this is the first time that's ever happened
Big day, should have fewer staples in my head at the end of it than the beginning.
Science should do tomatoes that produce THC next
And look, I'm not one for legislative solutions to our problems, genuinely, but every opportunity to throw sand in the works is a good one.
Of course, most of these bills will die in committee, the rest will easily fail a floor vote due to the power of the Republican legislative supermajority.
But every one of these bills is a site that can be used to grind the gears and slow down the progress of fascism, even a little.
One thing that's worth noting: Every state that has restricted trans rights and bodily autonomy has a pile of legislators working to undo it. Kentucky this year has a collection of proposed bills that restore trans healthcare, evidence-based sex education, and enshrine abortion rights into law.
Of course my unit has an early-manufacturer R1.100 firmware bug that causes it to not work on Linux
ATRAC is really impressive for a protocol that's contemporary to mp3 but capable of being read off a spinning disc while getting like 60 hours of battery life off a single AA on early 90s embedded hardware
A Sony MZ-N707 Minidisc Walkman, blue, the song playing is by Linkin Park (period appropriate)
Finally something has gone right
overlay of two US maps, one showing where weed is legal and how and one showing a map of states it's risky, dead, illegal to be transgender
raising and lowering the opacity on a projection of Where Weed Is Legal/Where Trans is Legal and constantly looking back at the audience for approval like a contestant on the price is right.
they haven't revoked passports yet, but given that we can't renew them and they have an expiration date... they may has well have
Kentucky coming in hot with an exciting plan to remove healthcare from all trans people, regardless of age
Jesus, the others I was mostly vaguely aware of, but this one is one of my "begin making flight plans" triggers π
solidarity with all marginalized people in Kansas.
you are not alone. together we are going to build the better world we all deserve.
Because many (most) trans people in Kansas aren't going to move, please also look for ways to support those staying and fighting the current regime there.
Sadly when a draconian anti-trans measure hits in a "red state," wider support pushes tend to forget those who aren't leaving.
she was the blueprint
Picked up a mini-disc player as a treat for surgery recovery and USPS managed to misdeliver it (or *something*, marked as delivered, but definitely not in my neighborhood!)
For those of you (esp. Louisville-area folks regardless of UofL connections, or university-affiliated folks anywhere) who kindly expressed interest in this petition effort, here it isβI would warmly welcome your support.
FOSS Nerds: We are announcing today an exciting project, the Hurtsume Nexus, an AGPL fork of the closed source Torment Nexus
I honestly figured this was just another Worldport thing! Mine has been shipping from here for the past 7 months!
These look great! Congrats!

Cover of Federal Railroad Administration report "Electric locomotive testing at the Transportation Test Center" with a black & white photo of electric locomotive AEM-7
Screenshot of Chloe's tweet: people saying "they can't force Linux to do age verification!! it's open source!!" are being incredibly naive the next step is locking bootloaders/BIOS at the hardware level and every computer only capable of running approved OSes with age verification
The QRTs to @chloetankahhui.bsky.social shows the extent of naivety that a lot of people have.
No one who does hardware security believes that any system is bulletproof, but do you really think that circumventing these things will always be a simple firmware mod or hardware hack?
Let's dive in. /1
A map of Louisville overlaid with dark red lines in places where present and historical heavy-rail right-of-ways exist, and light green lines where historical and fantasy light-rail/interurban lines existed
Getting the hang of QGIS for some transit fantasy alt-history (and future model railroad freelancing π)
