A Very Safe Night Among the “Dangerous” Trans People Trans Mission brought 10,000 people to Wembley for music, solidarity and fundraising. The “danger” critics warn about never appeared.

10,000 people packed OVO Arena Wembley for Trans Mission. Music, joy, solidarity.

Two of the loudest critics of trans people turned up hoping for drama… and were mostly ignored.

No chaos. No “trans mob”. Just a great night.

Writers — a small note for anyone in my orbit working on poems, stories, or a novel.
I’ve opened up a handful of editorial slots this week and I’m happy to look at work-in-progress and offer detailed feedback.
If you’ve got something that’s stuck, unfinished, misbehaving
Feel free to DM.

#TransRightsReadathon begins soon. It's a decentralized event, which means you don't have to sign up or do anything in particular, you just have to love trans people and trans books. Here's what I'm doing this year 🧵

One Year On: 13 people on the ruling that changed their lives On 16 April 2025, the UK’s Supreme Court ruled that the legal definition of a woman is based on their biological sex assigned at birth. Forget the rage-bait headlines and attempts to divide us through...

my first piece (cowritten with Catriona Innes) in a print magazine comes out today: we interviewed 13 people, mostly trans women, about how the Supreme Court ruling has affected them for Cosmo UK

Malorie Blackman on Noughts & Crosses at 25: ‘It’s even more relevant today’ Her YA classic was inspired by racism in 1990s Britain. A quarter of a century later, she talks about success, death threats and getting shoutouts from Tinie Tempah and Stormzy

I remember doing school events and students would ask if I’d ever met anyone famous. I’d say, “Like who?” And they’d all yell “Malorie Blackman!!” I’d say yes and was cool for the rest of the day.

A small girl wearing a rabbit costume and blue coat carries a book as she walks to school.

Her mother (head out of shot) wheels her baby brother along in a pushchair.

The baby says "Peter Rabbit may be the 'Hero' of the story, but surely the obedient, widowed Mrs Rabbit is a more effective symbol of the oppression inherent within Mister McGregor's regime"

The girls looks furious and snaps "Mum!! He's critiquing my world book day costume from a marxist perspective again!"

Hiya book lovers! Today is St David’s Day which is the national day of recognising Welsh people for being hot and talented and cool. How about you go read some Welsh books (here’s some fun romcoms!!) and enjoy a lil Catatonia and several Welsh cakes x 📚💙

HOME | Queer Britain Queer Britain: the national LGBTQ+ museum

Then in 2018, the idea of a national museum, 'Queer Britain' committed to preserving our history was launched.

Use the word, don't use the word, but don't tell us that 'no one' ever used it in a positive manner.

Help us support Girlguiding and the Women’s Institute to remain inclusive | Good Law Project We’re offering to defend the Women’s Institute and Girlguiding against trans exclusion

Girlduiding and Women's Institute say the law forces them to exclude trans women. But that's not true.

We are offering to indemnify them against legal risk if they change course.

If they remain trans exclusive, their members can know it's management's ideological choice.

t.A.T.u.’s music is an unlikely thread of queer resistance at Olympic Games Even though t.A.T.u. themselves were not actually lesbians, their songs have been claimed by the queer community and become anthems of joy and resistance.

I did a deep dive of t.A.T.u.’s music & its connections to the Winter Olympics, from Sochi to Milano Cortina, & the connections that music has to anti-LGBTQ+ resistance at the Games & in the host countries.
