Spruce Falls - Demo out now on itch.io!
Act 1 of our David Lynch-themed diner-based murder mystery game is now live! @explod.es and @annaandresactor.bsky.social have been awesome to work with and I hope we can collab further in future!
Here's the first 60 seconds of our David Lynch-inspired murder mystery game, Spruce Falls!
All of my music is written, most of environments and game mechanics are in. That leaves us about 2 weeks to finish implementing the story, the remaining models, and add some extra polish.
Review: Nioh 3 delivers best-in-class combat that revitalizes the established formula with a fantastic split between Samurai and Ninja styles, as well as a triumphant move to an open-world structure. Score: 9 Amazing
Even in a genre thatβs become as saturated as the soulslike, thereβs still nothing that hits quite like the Nioh series, and Nioh 3 stands out as the best of the trilogy.

Preview of the main menu music for Spruce Falls, our submission for a 2 month-long David Lynch-inspired game jam.
Spruce Falls is a first-person murder mystery game set in a Pacific Northwest diner.
A local journalist has been killed. By a falling tree.
People Make Games wins the Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism at the New York Game Awards.
The organizers and contributors of the New York Game Awards take to the stage at the end of the event. Reggie is wearing a tux!
PMG won the Knickerbocker Award for Best Games Journalism last night at the @nyvgcc.bsky.social!
It feels like we've come such a long way since we first launched this thing nearly eight years ago, but winning a journalism award at an event in NEW YORK CITY still seems totally mad to me.
The actual expression I make when deciding where to place my skill points.
Thanks Mary-Anne! Appreciate the support!! π
Major news time! I recently launched my music composition website, featuring some samples and a contact form for instrumentalists / vocalists / composers who might want to collaborate in future!

Here's a preview of my first completed video game soundtrack! The full OST includes 12 tracks including 5 distinct ending themes, each reflecting the consequences of the playerβs actions.
I'll post a link to the finished game when it's published :)
'Sounds Like Fate' - a track inspired by games like Destiny 2, Halo & Elite Dangerous. Probably some Game of Thrones and The Expanse in there too! πͺ

Once again, 'make a quick video for socials' has snowballed into learning a new game engine.
Enough, brain. Enough.
We're putting together our monthly newsletter! If you have January opportunities for writers, let us know - we're particularly interested in sharing opportunities for writers in the North of England, and for writers of speculative fiction.
I'm stunned that there hasn't been more chatter about Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon as we come into the end of the year?
Someone that isn't Bethesda done did Their Own Full Elder Scroll, in the year of our lord 2025. I'd expect that to be a bigger deal!
Thank you to everyone who responded to the UK govt consultation earlier this year. It makes it very clear where the sentiment lies

Actually my second appearance at said awards, after the Black Myth Wukong trailer in 2023.
I wrote something for this about how to write better branching, based on my own experience!
It's gonna be a fantastic handbook of thoughts, anecdotes, and advice from some very talented writers, so you should totally sign up right now if you like that sort of thing

Finally! A house that's within my budget!
For Arc Raiders to ride the wave of human sociability all the way to the bank, while also being so contemptuous of the thing that makes us social animals in its own workflow demonstrates a lack of artistic integrity that I find impossible to ignore.

'Dress for the job you want'
Disco Elysium (2019) - Atmosphere in spades. Art, soundtrack, narration, humour.
Firewatch (2015) - The story, visual style, soundtrack, super strong voice acting. Turt Reynolds.
Sim City 2000 (1993) - One of the only games our old PC would run (alongside Civ2 andΒ ThemeΒ Hospital).
Life Is Strange (2016) - Played it with a dear friend. The atmosphere, music, visuals. Felt like a teenager again.
Broken Sword (1996) - George's opening monologue was the first voice acting I'd heard in a game. And Nico's appartment set unreasonably high standards for rented accommodation.
Final Fantasy VIII (1999) - My first JRPG. Loved the music, art style, characters.
Monkey Island 3 (1997) - Art style, music, humour, three-headed monkeys.
Half Life 2 (2004) - First game on my first gaming pc. The world, the characters, the pacing, Havok physics - especially that water...
Really hard to whittle down to 10... so I'll consider this a starter pack.
*10 Games to Get to Know Me*
Clockwise from top left:
Elite Dangerous (2014) - My most played game for the last 11 years. 'It's not rocket science...'
Morrowind (2002) - My first open world game. Got jumpscared by thunder.
