You're seeing differences that most colour scientists would call noise. If you're not already calibrating displays for a living, you're leaving money on the table.

I really hope that the pendulum swings the other way and for the first time ever we get a cultural environment like the one every conservative imagined we had where you can never criticize trans people and if you fire one of us your life is ruined.

It is a weakness of our system that the murder of 160 schoolchildren does not result in an immediate dissolution of the government.

We need reparations for ICE victims.

Anything short of that is setting the stage for a massive wealth grab from people of color that will re-entrench racial disparities for generations.

I mean Trump is so bad at lying that it wraps around to being government transparency again but imagine being alive during the invasion of Iraq and thinking Trump wasn’t going to do that

virtue signaling is good. practicing virtue is better, but both signaling AND practicing virtue is best.

A cartoon by Ron Cobb (1975), showing a shadow of US B-52 bomber above cratered landscape. Two people who look like Vietnamese peasants look up; one says “they’re having problems with their economy again.”

Constellis, formerly Blackwater, is an American private military contractor founded on December 26, 1997,[2] by former Navy SEAL officer Erik Prince.[3][4] It was renamed Xe Services in 2009, and was again renamed to Academi in 2011, after it was acquired by a group of private investors.[5] In 2014, Academi merged with Triple Canopy to form Constellis Holdings.[6][7][8]

Constellis and its predecessors provide contract security services[9] to the United States federal government. Since 2003, it has provided services to the Central Intelligence Agency.

In 2007, Blackwater received widespread notoriety for the Nisour Square massacre in Baghdad, when a group of its employees killed 17 Iraqi civilians and injured 20. Four employees were convicted in the United States and were later pardoned on December 22, 2020, by President Donald Trump.[10][11]

if you're trying to defend Platner by claiming that he didn't ACTUALLY work for Blackwater, he just worked for Constellis, which is TOTALLY DIFFERENT.....they just renamed the company after some mergers.

and Constellis is still notably evil! they're currently working with ICE!

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a giant squid wearing a yellow Bart t-shirt and some terrible hypebeast shorts is looking in the mirror. It says, “need groceries… but all my clothes are in the laundry.” Panel 2: the squid, now also wearing hot pink crocs, exits its apartment and says, “eh. I won’t see anyone.” Panel 3: two fisherman are pulling the squid to the surface of the water and pointing at it. An overlayed news caption reads: RARE SQUID SIGHTED - the fit was crazy

My two favorite things in this are the little pause he takes after reading the constitution and the phrase she uses “So constitutionally, the constitution says”
