This is such a classic dictator trope — forcing subordinates to copy your style — that I thought it couldn’t possibly be real. Think Mao Zedong and the “Mao Suit,” or Saddam Hussein and “The Mustache", or Joseph Stalin and the “Generalissimo” outfit.

OK so I promised I would revisit how to protect your personal information in light of the news today that the DOGEbags uploaded a ton of people’s information to a cloud server that could be hacked, thanks to an SSA whistleblower. Here’s my original thread from like February, but I have some updates.

Buddy also told me a "funny" story about how his cousin was short for his age until they realized he had worms.

A plant with red leaves that look a bit like holly plant leaves has a cluster of yellow blooms at the center. The ones that are fully open are yellow, but the ones that have yet to open and are spherical. These closed blooms are mostly green, but many have traces of pink on them as well. The red color of the leaves is unusual among Oregon Grape, but sometimes the plants do this.

A plant with bright green leaves with spikes somewhat like holly leaves. At the center is a cluster of closed blossoms. Almost all of these are a green, in a slightly lighter shade a the surrounding leaves. Several have small traces of pink and 3 are fully formed pink spheres. There are no fully open yellow ones. This is the normal color of Oregon Grape leaves.

Oregon Grape (Mahonia aquifolium) is starting to go into bloom in northwest, as see in tonight's 9 o'clock photos.
The color changes are quite interesting. As seen in the sample at right (8 Mar 2026) blooms start out as green balls, develop some pink hue.
