Thank you so much for writing it. It was great to be entertained and educated at the same time. That's how you do it!
I don't think there is a single non-last-name-is-Mulroney person in Canada who thinks Ben Mulroney's success is because of anything other than who his dad was
A) can’t wait for this movie bc long live Gorillaz and B) the smarmy way the radio host is like “oh so you’ve NEVER used AI??” And Jamie and Damon both laughing and being like “lmao no” is the energy we should all have for these losers

This is so fuckin' relevant to my interests it's like it's Christmas or something.
Yes!
It is clear to me that my professor doesn’t realize that doing coursework with the help of AI cripples our ability to learn. As soon as we want to give up on a hard assignment or reading, we can feed it into a chatbot and ask it to solve it for us. This way of using AI deprives us of ever being unsure, and thus alleviates us of the need to think critically.
How the hell are the *students* the ones who understand this while the professor is failing so horribly at his job?
Come join me at BreakoutCon!
And that last line made me laugh out loud . . . though that’s a low bar.
I’ve already backed, but someone should jump in to be backer 100 and give us more li’l marginalia guys!
It seems like the majority of people are just looking at the headline and interpreting this as another "whoops! user data got leaked! our bad!"
What was actually exposed was code used in Persona's software. Code showing that this company is doing A LOT MORE THAN CHECKING YOUR AGE.
The two I really remember:
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Shane
That is WAY more dangerous to a dude in “plate” than a sword or even an axe.
Ladies and gentlemen... the weekend. (also: you are important and are not alone 🧡)
An old black-and-white photo of Sean Connery flipping through a clothing rack.
To be clear, I don't think you should treat this thread as a shopping list. Building a wardrobe requires careful thought and consideration. But for what the average household spent on tariffs last year alone, you could build a significant wardrobe — even items made in the USA.
“why do you lock replies” people don’t realize that the kind of entitlement they have towards interacting with a stranger is a new phenomenon and the internet incentivizes a certain level of anti social behavior one should have the agency to spare oneself from
“I know Andrew is a good man who’s been treated terribly, but you remember when we learned a few minutes ago that England and the United States are two different countries?” said Senior Advisor Gerald Donovan

She apparently learned the AWESOME from her dad!
Canadian pals, if you're looking at what's happening in the US with Ring and Flock and their police partnerships with horrør, you reeeeeaaaally gotta read this by @terraloire.bsky.social ricochet.media/labour/class...
two old chinese guys, one very old, one smoking a cigarette and one extending a cigarette to the viewer. from a viral tweet that said the ancestors are going to need you to lock in son.

The Supreme Court of Canada no longer posts in X. Same for the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Medical Association, and so many other national organizations. It would be great to see the federal, provincial, and territorial governments do the same.
System matters is when you got mad about games not working right so you made a better one you desperately want people to read.
System doesn't matter is when you learned to work around bad rules until rules basically stopped having an impact on you, and you don't want to read that other guy's game.
Listening to this right now, and it is so poignant and insightful--as I would expect. This podcast always goes to the head of the queue.
Promising headline that completely overstates what is expressed in the actual text
Discord's response can be summed up to saying they're aware of the ethical and security problems, but they're not doing anything of substance to protect or respect users, and will make zero substantial policy changes
Quote from the San Francisco Chronicle article: "In July 2024, the surviving parents of Cardoso de Oliveira and Ramos Pinto filed a wrongful death civil suit against Lau. In May 2025, the relatives filed another civil lawsuit, this time asking a judge to void alleged financial transfers that Lau made after the first civil lawsuit was filed. Survivors of the slain family accused Lau of transferring her ownership interest in several properties to new limited liability companies and selling properties to third-parties, including her son-in-law, transferring millions of dollars to avoid potential financial penalties from the civil suit."
Especially considering her attempt to avoid the repercussions of her actions. If she was truly remorseful, would she do this?
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
You can't go wrong reading what @virginiaheffernan.bsky.social writes and listening to what she says.
