People distrusting government and blaming them for evwrythig fucking thing that should be placed at the feet of corporates and billionaires is how we fucking got in this mess.

But how do they get private companies to deliver fuel if those private companies decide not to do it. Seriously. We live in a capitalist society. Fuel supply is privatised. I mean for bucks sake, place blame where it belongs instead of on governments that have limited control in these circumstances.

How you can blame any Australian govts for current circumstances has me befuddled. What exactly should they have done in the last week to prevent this, please tell me.

Yep, blame the Victorian government for Trumps war in Iran and big corporate suppliers refusing to supply to rural areas. Make it make sense.

Not sure it will protect him - I told the Labor volunteer that knocked on my door yesterday that the writers week business is the reason Im not voting for them this year. He sighed and said resignedly "I understand" then walked away. Seemed he might have heard that a lot.

Adelaide - where your clothes are dry as soon as you've finished hanging them out on the ol' Hills hoist. At 11.30pm at night #36degreesatmidnight

The Premier's actions are indefensible and have given me cause to completely rethink my voting intentions for March.

This happened to me in Spain too this year. Seems consistent.

We got through customs and security with minimal fuss - electronic passport checking down but they brought in a load of border guards and we were through in 10 mins. They're now bussing passengers out to planes - presumably because air bridges aren't working.

I'm in Madrid airport waiting for a 5.30pm flight. So far, Emirates baggage conveyer belt stopped working but there's no panic at check in. Some restaurants are closing. Our flight time has been pushed back 30 mins.

Hasn't been cheap for the 10 years I've been buying for my son - $70 gets an ok set for 10 years and under. For complex sets - $150 plus. I managed to sell a big tub with 40+ sets for $600 so I suppose it's good there's some resale value.

Think of the most disadvantaged person you know and vote in their interests, rather than your own.

Nature / the ocean. Camping in nature. Reading. Quiet companionship. A really good, intimate chat about things that matter.

And now I realise why I'm unsatisfied. All the things that give me pleasure I hardly get to indulge. Can't even name which ones are top 5, because so many I haven't done for so long!

My son "lost" his parental consent form for the school boosters in Yr 7 last year. When I found out, he told me he didn't want to do it because some other kid told him vax had "nasties" in them. I spent a good hour properly educating him then marched him down to council to get it done.

On FB, someone commented on an ABC article that he wished they would report on policy rather than personality. The ABC bot replied "what policy would you like us to report on?" 🀣 I mean, isn't it their job to ask politicians what their policies are and then report?

I find though that it is *never* empty. You wash again while the basket is still half full and you've worn different things because you can't find what you want in the basket and suddenly you have two baskets full. This is my life with 2 kids. Never ending washing.

So Jacinta Price is now the Shadow Minister for Government Efficiency, while there's already a Shadow Minister for Government Waste Reduction

That doesn’t sound very efficient

I will never understand why people in lower socio-economic brackets think govt "efficiency" is better for them. It always means less resources for the public schools and hospitals they rely on, fewer nurses, lower or no safety nets for unemployment, retirement, fewer govt jobs etc. It's madness.

Make these consecutive paragraphs make sense:

"There have been no infant deaths related to whooping cough since 2019.

From January 1, 2019 to October 27, 2024, there were two deaths in infants aged 0-5 months, which were infected with whooping cough."

My mum was also 6 when she got it and did end up in an iron lung. They thought she was going to die and then she made a miraculous recovery. But the physical and mental harm caused to her and her family has been ongoing. She is a staunch vaccine advocate as a result.

I've recently noticed that when I leave Bluesky and then come back, I come back to the exact same spot I left. Whether that's amongst comments or part way through my feed, I come back to where I left. I LOVE THAT. So much better than the other place.
