btw about that pixar thing, the reason why these people think having a conversation about gay people with kids is difficult is because they don't know a way to say to their kid "gay people are normal but you are not allowed to be one" without sounding like a bigot (there is a reason for that)

Who do I know who’s got expertise in immigration law? A dear friend’s brother was illegally detained by ICE 2d ago. The family are refugees who fled political violence 20 yrs ago, have followed legal process. He’s at a detention center in Freeborn MN adult detention center.

FLINTA is a German abbreviation that stands for: Female/Women, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans and Agender people. Too many times have I or people I know heard from men being offended that they're excluded from FLINTA safe spaces. Those men do not get the point. These spaces are created out of love for the community and because everyone should have access to public spaces where they can feel safe and are treated equal regardless of who they are. Right now it is not a given that every (magic) space is safe for us and that' s why more and more communities are starting to pop up to take matters into their own hands and create their own safe spaces. Not because they hate men but because they love the community. These spaces are needed. Everyone in the FLINTA community I have spoken with has similar negative experiences which ultimately results in them not going out anymore. These spaces are dedicated for them to feel safe, to be able to be themselves and to build their confidence back up to be in public spaces. This will remain necessary as long as this is a problem. If men don't like it, they need to stand up and fix the problem because the answer lies within them. To the FLINTA community: you deserve to feel safe, you deserve to be your authentic self, you belong and I love you.
