A pet peeve about Janice is that she’s not just the lead guitarist, she’s the ONLY guitarist yet for a 70s coded band she never gets to shred or in any way show off her chops. Meanwhile Muppets Mayhem has multiple scenes of Floyd writing songs on his Rickenbacher bass. AS IF! #justiceforJanice

Huh I spoke too soon, ep7 is entirely about the band name and directly addresses Janice & Floyd. Animal likes bunnies (and vice-versa), where did that come from? Such a weird show, none of the cameos are needed and all the humans are bad. Utterly split goals, diametrically opposed tones throughout.

Very strange to rename em Dr Teeth & the Electric Mayhem cuz for entire run of The Muppet Show he was least important band member w fewest lines. Janice & Floyd were canonically a couple, that’s not brought up; instead Floyd in Animal’s foster dad (?!). Zoot barely exists and Janice is band nurse 🤷🏻‍♂️

#MuppetsMayhem is a fascinating watch after bingeing Muppets Show seasons 1-3. There’s a sixth member (?!) Lips basically doing Boomhauser and they get the band personalities right (altho never enuff Janice!), but there’s a tonal off-ness from aiming the series at Gen Z & Boomers & nobody else. 🥁
