Anyway I'm rambling now, but I'll just leave you with two thoughts:
1) "recognizing, abstracting, & applying patterns" is a useful way to tie together all the various things AI can do;
2) consider that human cognition might just be a unfathomably more data-rich & sophisticated version of same.
I continue to be gobsmacked at 1) how common this formulation is 2) how antisemitic and generally bigoted it is 3) and how for all the talk of anti-semitism this is never cited as an example even though it’s quite literally the original incarnation.
