Incidentally, taking the NNRG format for the C64 stuff and reapplying it within TG-16 audio/video constraints kind of leaves it feeling both awkward and fresh at the same time...? Dunno... it's kind of a strange but not unwelcome feeling. :B

Yep, absolutely needed the extra day for the start of NNRG TG-16 Edition; I only JUST got all of the assets finished and working right for the TG-16 styled title sequence, vote reveal, etc. after eight hours of work today. :P

64 is a good game, but I feel Galaxy beats it hands down. ;)

Then again, I'm one of those strange people who likes Sunshine more than 64 so maybe don't listen to me... :P

FL Studio just crashed on me for the first time ever...

...and worse, it WASN'T autosaving backups for the past hour like it's supposed to...?????? The last backup was from before my last ACTUAL save...?????? o_O

I just checked the tracking on a package I ordered... It says it's 1.16 Kg and has dimensions of 0.25x0.25x0.25 cm...

...I swear I didn't order a freaking neutron star... XD

(The dimensions are absolutely wrong, the weight is probably right.)

Or in short: Keep it secret but don't worry TOO hard about it; Odds are always in your favour when you're doing something no one else has done. ;)

The point I'm getting at is that, if you have a unique mechanic (or three) in mind, even IF someone else beats you to the punch, the question now becomes if they were able to do it as well as you, and if so, if they actually have a viable game encompassing it in the first place. :P

I take solace in knowing that the core mechanic I have yet to reveal in my gamedev project took MONTHS of work to get it working just right: Physics math, shaders, lightning, interactivity, modelling, UV mapping... Heck, one of the models I thought would be super-easy took TWELVE HOURS to make! >_<

Worst case scenario: The first TG-16 NNRG video will be delayed a day or two.

Irony: I already have most of what I need for ADG-se ready and yet I don't have to actually worry about that new show until next week. :P

I kinda overstretched myself with work this week... I'm not fully finished with the TG-16 styled assets for NNRG yet, and yet that video is supposed to go up tomorrow evening, and then I STILL have a little more VR footage to capture for the next ADG filler, and a 14-page script to voice... >_<

Doesn't someone have to actually commit a GenAI update to an open source project by hand though? Or is the deeper problem that GenAI systems are just... arbitrarily getting involved with and pushing updates to open source projects entirely without Human prompting or intervention?

I was having a weird audio issue just now where the left side of my headphones was slightly quieter than the right side. I tried plugging them into my phone, problem was gone, plugged 'em back into my computer, problem was still there...

...then I remembered my compy is using an extension cable...

If it were possible for open source projects to both flat-out state their stance on GenAI and be able to enforce that stance through the version control systems without user intervention, things would be going a LOT better for everyone.

I'm noticing the biggest problem here is that the systems being used to make open source projects possible don't have enough safeguards or options in place to allow/disallow GenAI; It's currently up to project maintainers to police things and subsequently is making a mess of everything. :(

Almost done recording footage for the next ADG filler video... I hadn't played some of these VR games in over a year and nearly forgot how fun they were! :)

In total, I will be showing footage from 13 different VR games over the course of the video. :B

Just finished writing the script for my upcoming filler video on VR... First time I've ever used the word "zeitgeist" in anything! :D

...also the script is 14 pages long... this is gonna be a sizeable filler video... :o (average ADG episode script length is 8 pages)

Surprisingly, my Dad's been getting better, but he regresses back to being a tech idiot when a person with better tech skills is in his vicinity and I don't quite understand why he does this...?

In my immediate family, the ranking of tech skills is:
1st: Me
2nd: Mom
3rd: Sister
4th: Dad

Think back to those training videos people would watch on how to use Windows. If THAT was the extent of your tech knowledge, you would be more dangerous with tech than a person with zero knowledge because you would know how to do certain things without knowing WHY those things work like that! :P

What's more dangerous than a non-tech user getting into tech? A tech-user who THINKS they're tech-savvy because they've been using it for several years but who actually doesn't know how anything works internally! :P

They exist so that people with zero computer skills can immediately have full access to the internet upon purchasing a device with a Microsoft OS installed.

It's easy to forget that we live in a day and age now where most tech users don't have a clue how their tech even works. :P

Actually, given some completely broken updates they pushed lately on the PC side of things (which have since been fixed) I think what's actually going on is they're vibe coding until it breaks and then bringing in like, one or two people to do it right, then going back to vibes. >_<
