yeah, that’s probably it. since ill be working for a while (hopefully) its not something i gotta do now, but if the animation industry never recovers, going back to school might be the way to go.

It’s been 15 years since i left a top college, i was on academic probation due to undiagnosed ADHD, so i always wonder if i’d be able to go back and actually finish the degree, i dont know how to talk to their admissions people.

watching an animal crossing player build in pokopia and seeing how sick the are for letting their pokemon be unhappy while they terraform and build. i could never.
animation is expensive but its not supposed to be $150-200 million dollars expensive and its ridiculous to spend that much.
i need at least 6 frames to register 1 thing happening.
thinking about the time my ship was hanging out with a carrier strike group in the Pacific and they wanted to do this big weapons demo where we fired every gun on every ship for no reason other than it was something to do. (and i was in weapons department so i have an idea of how many operators etc)
I know calling reps is very nerve racking. You're not sure what's the right thing to say, and tbh having a script thrown at me makes things just as nerve racking.
I called today, and I figured I'd write up a transcript of how my call went down. Hopefully it helps demystify the process
(I would literally get notes back that i made Victor too much like Kilo and yeah oops, thinking these guys could be interchangeable in anyway is a huge disservice to the things i like about them as individuals lol)
Or lets say that “Oh, Kilo Monster and Ayshia are like Victor and Ivy in Lackadaisy.” and maybe on the surface they look similar, but I know that from just working on the animated show and spending more time, these characters have different ways they do things that the comparison again doesnt fit
i can say that FFVII heavily influenced me in making Monster’s Garden but like its not the plot, barely the characters, mostly maybe the worldbuilding, but adding those caveats sorta defeats the purpose of trying to simplify it that way.
I have never really likes having to compare my own work to more popular works. I get it, but that doesnt mean i like it. And yes, my work is inspired by other works, but it doesnt make me feel the same and so i dont feel like its right to make the comparison. I also dont want expectations.
