32% say "Absolutely! Yes!"
Is this a map?
I'll be asking the Big Questions during this map workshop. π
Blood Rage and Root as graphs. Because everything is pointcrawl.
Hah, thanks.
I think you'd enjoy the exercises we will be doing!
node map of Dune War for Arrakis board game
Only the finest, high quality art for these map workshop slides I'm making.
It's not a real prototype if there isn't tape and scribbled edits somewhere!
Thank you!
Omnius, The All-Knowing is a Mercenary Ally
Ally cards with a red border are Mercenary Ally cards.
While these can be used in the same way as any other Ally card, they also have a special ability called fast-play. This means you can pay for a card in the market, play its effects, and not put it in your deck.
Play now or play later?
Exploring how the addition of the "fast-play" mechanism in Shards of Infinity (designed by @justingary.bsky.social and Gary Arant) creates tougher choices in a head-to-head deckbuilding game: www.skeletoncodemachine.com/p/shards-fas...

Right there with you.
Frantically trying to figure out PDF "poster print" to make a map late last night. Blurry and held together with packing tape. Just telling myself that this is how I embrace the Unpub ethos!

Exeunt Press shop on ipad showing TTRPG games and books
Exeunt Press Shop shipping will be paused from March 12 - 16, 2026. Orders placed during that time will resume shipping on March 17.
Absolutely.
Iβd love to be able to include a large format map in one of the KS tiers as well. It really does add to the feel of the game!
Tabletop Bookshelf is opening a physical location!!!
If you are near Milwaukee, check this out on March 21!
For more on the EZB: Epsilon map and how I decided to use a pointcrawl vs. a hexcrawl, check out this: omnes.exeunt.press/p/epsilon-004
The lighting in that photo is awful. It is what it is.
Big EZB: Epsilon map held together with packing tape. This is not the final map. It's barely a draft.
Made a big 11x17" EZ map for Unpub playtesting this week!
It's more of a proof of concept map, as this won't be what it looks like when finalized. It's mechanically correct. But I thought it would be fun to make a large one for testing.
Running this at TTRPG Speed Dating on Thursday!
TTRPG books in paper
Shipped so many orders today!

Same!!!!
Well played. π
Have fun with the heists!!!
Yes, I know UML can be used in other domains and not just software.
UML but for board games and TTRPGs.
The Wretched and the subsequent Wretched & Alone SRD were highly influential in how I think about games. It opened up a whole new world of solo TTRPGs for me.

Moon rings, missing fingers, and teaching game design!
Exploring how Moon Rings takes a simple card-grid and turns it into a journaling game about a witch hunting for rings in a dangerous labyrinth. And how I might use this in future game design classes: www.skeletoncodemachine.com/p/moon-rings
board game prototype
I wrote up some notes on how Turtchester became Ratsail and what I'll be testing at Unpub this week. There are some good design lessons in there somewhere... I think.

No.
Would still like to make a larger, revised Mammoth some day. I feel like there's so much that could be done with that core.
