I don't think it could have been a more obvious scam unless it had a blinking neon sign that said "I'm here to steal your data"

Absolutely, it's incredibly important and healthy to be open about that stuff. Speaking for myself, the most dangerous thing for my mental health is when you can't talk with anyone about it, it's healthy. Their line of thinking looks like ignorance and lack of understanding.

He was always intended to be a refugee from ala'mihgo because the first sidequest I really latched on to was the one for the refugees needing medicine. I later filled in lore with the tribe being lost in the conflict when he was an infant and a letter with his name burned, leaving only "Rin" legible

I actually started with the last name. The first scion he bonded with was Thancred and his story of a street urchin in limsa getting the name "waters", I used that for Rin growing up in an orphanage in Ul'dah to take the name sands. Rin was then the name I came up with afterwards.

Back in the days of paradise gun breakers would use superbolide and make their healer shit themselves and it was an enjoyable part of all of our days

When we finished the raid, we had like... 36 minutes left. It took about an hour and a half and we had at least one wipe on every boss. The last one in particular we wiped a bunch to. I had a blast.

No spoilers, but just want to say that new alliance raid is an absolute banger. What a great raid, so much fun. Go in blind, prepare for it to take a while, but some of the most fun I've had in this game in a while. What a great time.
