I see the similarities but it seems like it's lacking exploration and combat like DQB has

It is part of a free update after all, they weren't just gonna give us a bunch of NES games for free
I like Rean's english voice but Estelle is lol
Darm Engine would've been epic
If Bravely Default didn't even do 5000 then Ys wasn't gonna do well either. At least Ys was number 2 on eShop when it came out.
I wouldn't exactly call them rushed, just victims of their own gimmick if that makes sense lol
I like that falcom is trying to make each Ys game more distinct by adding stuff like a large city or sailing, but sometimes that is done at the expense of the game's quality/pacing/etc.
I'm started to get reminded of the Dana stuff they added for the PS4 version of 8. Everyone loves these sections, but then the next game they made was Ys 9.
Ys 8 was developed for Vita and it didn't really suffer from the straight line problem nearly as much as X. I think the decision to make multiple small islands is what lead to this problem, rather than making bigger but less islands. They need to justify the sailing sadly.
I swear before this they said that save data can't be transferred, but I think they meant regular save data and not clear save data.
So much about Proud Nodics is weird. It feels like Falcom is desperate to improve their sales on Switch.
Imagine if Kai on Switch 2 is $70 for some reason
Is this worse than the original Switch?
And yet the Neptunia Rebirth trilogy isn't allowed
Even if they only have 64GB cards, Yakuza 0 should be in one.
Still salty for getting banned from there, wish they'd relax a little
Ys IX needed proud more than Ys X π
Hoping it's PS5/Switch 2 only, but they have Sky 1st and Celceta coming to Switch 1 next year so who knows + even though Sky 1st ditched the PS4, the second screenshot you posted has a PS4 button.
Sky 1st is coming to Switch and it looks a console generation ahead of Ys X which is really funny.
Celceta Switch confirmed for Spring 2025 so I think Proud Nordics is likely in Summer.
Weird that there's no press release for Celceta Switch yet, for a second I thought it was a fake reveal lol
It sucks too cause Kondo said they would make Aprilis playable if they made a PS5 version of Ys IX, but after they jumped engines none of the devs likely wanted to work on it anymore?
The game also has cut content like a region of Balduq being cut and a dungeon randomizer (think Hajimari).
To me, Ys X was a pretty big disappointment so I'm hoping they try to improve it a lot with Proud. I don't care if they're selling me the game again if it's good.
I wanted this for Ys IX badly as well, but good thing it's happening with X.
Better example: This would be like if you played Ys 8 on Switch in 2018 then Falcom released Ys IX on Vita in 2019.

Just finished watching Madoka Magica (and movie 3) for the first time and I loved it, can't believe I've put off this series for so long
