Love 'em. At this time of year I drive detours to go see all the best ones in the neighbourhood
Thanks for the reminder, Victoria.... Which made me realise that I loved The Square of Sevens but had forgotten to publish my review of it. D'uh! Now it's up, thanks to you ;-) books.beledit.com/the-square-o...
And now I realise I never did get around to publishing my review of Laura Shepherd-Robinson's previous book! Better late than never, here it is! books.beledit.com/the-square-of-sevens/. #BookReview #HistoricalFiction ππ

She really can! I loved the writing in The Art of a Lie!
Finally found time for my review of this wonderful historical mystery. I highly recommend it! books.beledit.com/the-art-of-a... #BookReview #HistoricalFiction ππ @laurasrobinson.bsky.social @panmacmillan.bsky.social
Cats are consistently denied entry to schools. There are zero cat literacy programs. There are no authors that I can find writing books for cats. But sure, blame the cats.
Watch Lil Justin Fox be a good Nazi for his Nazi overlords. Zero self-questioning, zero 'how did I end up here'
C'est AT Protocol, oui, mais l'important c'est que nos donnΓ©es sont hΓ©bergΓ©es en Europe, pas aux Etats Unis. Si j'ai bien compris. "Hosted in Europe, governed in Europe", "we aim to accelerate a new generation of European companies that are natively open, scalable and globally competitive"
Bowled over by this novel! If you were turned off by all the hype about βbromanceβ and startups, donβt be. Thereβs a lot more depth to Drayton and Mackenzie than itβs been given credit for. It's a 'classic'! #BookReview #BookSky #LitFic books.beledit.com/drayton-and-... @swiftpress.bsky.social
Nearly 100% people I know are upset by climate/Trump/right-wing shift/oligarchs... But 99% don't want to change ANYTHING in their own habits. e.g. de-google, de-amazon, support EU businesses, fly less, eat no/less meat, challenge the nazis, boycott ... They all recycle, though. Phew: world saved.
Hell no.... Wait, it's a joke ! Phew! But wtf, that's an actual real logo? Oh dear.
You make that sound like it's a bad thing. There were different ways this could have been headlined.
Je suis prΓͺte Γ soutenir les "alternatives europΓ©ennes". Nous sommes trop dΓ©pendants des technologies amΓ©ricaines.
12!!
11, arguably, but can't find another!
Since I joined #eurosky, my IQ increased 20 points, my cholesterol improved and my cat danced a tango.

Moved my account to #eurosky today using EU-haul. Very easy and straightforward, and it worked without a hitch... But do follow the instructions carefully!
It makes no difference, practically speaking, but it's part of my move from US to European tech alternatives.
So now I've signed up, can I proudly claim to be among the first 5000? I'm all for supporting European tech alternatives!
This is so cool. I love wind turbines but I can see their downsides too. These are better, and also beautiful.
I agree. Half a dozen is probably 6 but you wouldn't swear to it. 6 means exactly 6. Also agree about the group.

Age 7, my son watched the 1931 version of Dracula with Bela Lugosi. We were in and out of the room, sat with him briefly and just thought it looked laughable. Didn't realise our poor boy was being traumatised! He had nightmares for quite a while and still talks about it 30 years later. Bad parents π’
Fuck that. My sister (NOT a trump supporter) is 5 minutes down the road. Innocent people shouldn't die, even to rid the world of possibly one of the top 10 most evil leaders in history
I Swear, about John Davidson, is a fantastic, moving film. Everyone should watch it. But surely it's obvious that people with Tourette's should neither be held responsible for their tics nor have their words edited out. IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT AND THEY DON'T MEAN IT. What's hard to understand? D'uh!
Thank you for bringing this old but fantastic review to my attention. I was in the mood for focusing all my hatred of humanity onto one human being, and this just really scratched that itch, you know? Never read the book or watched the film but this proves all my preconceptions were spot on.
Who agrees glasses stores=rip-off? Paid β¬170 to buy 2 pairs of glasses online, 1 multifocal with Transitions S photochromic lens and 1 for computer. Would've cost minimum 10x more in a store. Been buying specs online 15-20 years, but opthalmo still says 'you shouldn't buy them online'. Idiot.
This is fucking heartbreaking
They switched off street lights in my area. The one time I walked alone I was terrified and I got harassed. Must have been horrible for women who had to regularly walk home in the dark. Now, the lights are back. Btw, Belgium is not 'over-illuminated'. It's a small, very densely populated country.
