“I got out of jail last Tuesday to a message from my pediatrician, saying ‘call me.’ Then, as I’m looking at other messages, I find out that NYU had closed down their youth gender clinic."
We are grateful to the affirming family members of trans kids that took action with us 💞🏳️⚧️
The protest was organized by the Gender Liberation Movement, which advocates for bodily autonomy and trans rights, to protest incoming federal regulations that would essentially ban gender-affirming care nationwide for minors.
Larissa, a therapist from D.C., recently spent 12 hours in a jail cell with five other people. There was no running water, since the sink wasn’t working. They were all fed once: a baloney sandwich per person.
She was there for her trans patients. They're being hurt by this administration, she said.
Our court dates are this week. 3 of us got an unlawful entry charge (no one even tried to enter the building) and one of the Black men in our group got a bogus resisting arrest charge.

Important insight. ALSO, I have no patience (and I mean ZERO) with people who say "they won't ban birth control." They will eventually try BECAUSE WHAT THEY WANT IS TO CONTROL YOUR BODILY AUTONOMY. We need to be proactive about BODILY AUTONOMY IN GENERAL.
