On the surface, #Pokopia is adorable, fun, and addicting. But damn, the scattered pieces of lore get kinda dark. It's no secret humans are absent, but I'm worried as to why they never came back.

I just wasted my day. Drove 45 minutes to an interview only to find out it was tomorrow instead.

I even pulled up my confirmation email and it said 11:30 today. But their calendar said tomorrow, same time and place. Now I have to leave my dept with no coverage tomorrow...*sigh*

Since Monday, gas has gone up about .$70/gallon. $3.65 at my usual place today. It was $2.91 the beginning of the week, when I filled my tank.

I have this wonderful bakery across the street from my bank. Whenever I'm there, it's nearly impossible to resist the urge and walk across.

Pistachio cannoli cake, almond chocolate torte and peanut butter fudge cheesecake. Not pictured is the chocolate Irish cream mousse cake...which I already ate.

I'd say between Wednesday and this morning, I've reduced the total amount of my possessions by about 25%. I generally do this every six months, but never to this extreme.

So far, the major ones aren't taking books. I'm hoping to find a youth group (high school and/or college level), as those books I have are mainly intended for that range.

The closest queer-owned bookstore is a few hours away. I have mostly pop-up shops in my area that sell overstocks en masse at major discounts and the big chains only take donations around Christmas. I'll keep an eye out, should one appear.

Absolutely! Books have helped many of us get through some rough times.

I'll have to continue asking around. The two I know of weren't taking them, which had me leaning toward a library as a last resort.

About all you'll see, openly, is coverage of the anti-ICE protests. If there is a resistance, they're staying under the radar or conservative outlets are suppressing knowledge of them until they do something that can't be ignored.

Facism and Christian nationalism are strong in the US right now.

There's a lot of media suppression over here. One by one, news outlets are being taken over by conservative shareholders and they're either twisting current events, distracting from current events with right-wing topics, or just altogether not covering the atrocities their overlords are committing.

I found books that were a lifeline for me in the months prior to my coming out. I no longer need them. I could donate them, but given the current political climate and the pushback against LGBTQ literature, I'd be afraid someone would borrow them just to burn them...which has actually happened.

It feels good to be downsizing. Too many books have gone untouched for years. Too many boxes collecting dust. Stacks of DVDs unwatched. Too many piles, though organized, have grown out of control. Clutter that needed addressing.

I dunno, I might be reducing the mountain of plushies too. We'll see.

I'm letting go of a ton of stuff today.

I'm donating my Hyrule Historia collection if no local friends want them. There are a few other video game art books too. I've also broken down all of my CE boxes, kept what goodies I wanted and thrown the rest out.

Seriously, that was an amazing seminar. There are still two more classes, one next week, and at the end of the month.

I even had a chance to teach a full room for 5-10 minutes about different learning styles—auditory, visual, and kinesthetic—and how to incorporate them into training employees.

I'm not a fan of driving into Boston, but this is where they want to have this work seminar...
